QuoteMunichhilton Assembled by accountants and designed by auditors. This release had so much incredible potential but in the end was released not for the fans, but for the quick repackaged cash grab. Seek ye the bootleg. It’s been available in its entirety for decades and is exactly what they should’ve released on this occasion... Exactly. To the point.

He was not only a great player but a very nice lad. I was lucky enough to have a conversation with him a couple of times over the years. He was also in a band called Gods that included Mick Taylor. I suggested that he should give Mick a call and see if he would be up for getting together with Ken and get some music going. He seemed genuinely interested in the idea... Unfortunately, we'll

I understand the haters. There is something we all gotta hate, don't we. I don't hate anything the Stones or its members have done. But there are songs I don't listen to a lot. One of them is Streets of Love. Hard Woman is no doubt a catchy song, something you recognize right away after the first few notes. As a teenager, I loved Hard Woman. I was already a huge Jeff Beck fa

What's the verdict on the sound? Is it way better than, let's say, on the Swingin' Pig box set? Has it been improved significantly?

Quoteloog droog All these years have gone by, and one of the most obvious and deserving candidates for a "sideman" induction into the RnR HoF has never been selected. Imagine "She's A Rainbow" without Nicky. You can't. I'd add... forgotten by all those musicians Nicky Hopkins helped all through the years.

QuoteSici Quotefrenki09 Thanks. It's an interesting listen. Is Italy COVID-free now? I have not been reading the news lately. Why did MJ choose this Italian town to celebrate his birthday? Honestly, the crickets were louder than the music... Zucchero? Isn't he overrated? He has worked with so many greats (including Jeff Beck). I just don't get it... 1) In Italy the situatio

QuoteDandelionPowderman They're doing the same thing the Stones did earlier, it seems. Bonus tracks from the dvds. Funny that they get a pat on the back in this thread, while the Stones were criticized heavily for the same thing It's hard to even compare The Stones with The Who when it comes to bonus material and giving fans what they want. The Who released ALL their shows fr

Thanks for the replies, ab and dennycranium! Are there a lot of outtakes there weren't included on the RTR set? The Real Alternate Album consists of only two CDs. A comment from discogs.com about the RTR release: "With literally tons of outtakes from these sessions you would think this set would be the last word on this 1986 LP...and you'd be wrong. MANY MANY common and avai

Surfing with the Alien was number one at the time or close to number one, while Primitive Cool was not riding that high on the charts. So you could argue that the real star was Satriani, not Brenda. I wouldn't call his 1988 solo shows crap. That's a bit harsh. It was not something that people expected from him, perhaps. Satriani is a skilled guitarist. I haven't listened to his p

Quotetheo1954 Looks like it's from The Netherlands?? I've seen IFPI written exactly like the one in your photo and I am 99.9999% sure it is from China. The Steve Hoffman also mentions Rock & Roll Circus being different (gate-fold vs. single sleeve). Perhaps you could take a look at that too. Let me know what you find. A fake AC/DC box set also has the same IFPI. It is al

Thanks for the photos. Here's the thing: if your Satanic album DOES NOT have a 3D photo on its cover than you've got a counterfeit version, NOT the genuine Japanese version. I took a look at your photos and the zeros all look like the fatter zeros on the counterfeit version. I can't imagine how a counterfeit version ended up in Virgin London...

Yep. The fake Chinese versions of Satanic DO NOT come with the 3D cover. So that's going to tell you whether you have a counterfeit or a genuine copy. Can anyone tell me how to spot a fake set if it is SEALED? The steve hoffman site mentions a few clues, but they are mostly of the colour variations on the outer box. This isn't very helpful when you don't have two copies in your

If you don't have the fake Chinese version it could worth a few hundred USD... You might want to google this for more info. There's no such problem with the rarer, second volume of this beautiful set. Not easy to come across one. The Chinese did not make fake copies of the second volume. I own three sets of the second volume. Two are still sealed. I wouldn't touch the firs

It is a mystery how a band like The Pretty Things never became stars fans would harass and stalk. They played tiny clubs up until 2018. They were never a stadium band. Perhaps bad management... (Perhaps Emotions could be a proof of this great band being mismanaged.) As far as I am concerned they were ahead of the curve with Get The Picture? and their self-titled second album. Two classics in o

Hey, All, I know that here on IORR we have some rockin' good experts of DVD/Blu-Ray ripping, burning... Can I turn a Blu-Ray rip into DVD-9? The Blue-Ray rip is one file: either mkv or mp4.
