Sad, indeed. Played with so many great names. Jeff Beck does not just play with any bass player... I saw him with The Doors of the 21st Century. An unsung hero he was. Fly on!

QuoteGasLightStreet That fan base is really starting to get old. Although there's no way to gauge sales in regard to bootlegs, when sales mattered during the times of REWIND and JUMP BACK and FORTY LICKS yet alone the various studio albums within those - there is an interest in what the Stones have done amongst unfinished, half way finished and even "finished" songs that have n

I wonder if there's a studio version of Going to a Go-Go. If so, it should have been included here on the this Deluxe Ed.

Quotebitusa2012 GREAT photos BV. Tell me/us… somehow you seem to have superb pics taken from slightly above ground/pit level. They don’t seem to be taken from IN the bottom of the pit. You’re looking straight at the band, even slightly DOWN on them occasionally. Do you levitate??? If you call those by BV superb, then how would you label the "more than superb" photos taken by Hendrik M

Quoteironbelly Quotefrenki09 Just curious... I was offered the second set for the price of 20 dollars. Between the Buttons to Let It Bleed. Should I buy this? MFSL part 2 These sets are all CD-Rs, so... I do not know if there's any value in these. Any opinions? Hardly it is of any value because you can get true MFSL flat transfers on old West German CDs Between The Buttons TSMR Be

QuoteBig Al QuoteRocktiludrop Thank you to DEAN GOODMAN, i might not agree with it but i love your humour and honesty, that review made my day As always, I really enjoyed reading Dean Goodman’s review: no sugar-coating the reality; just honest opinions and observations. The only review I am looking forward to reading is the one by Dean Goodman. I love the way he writes. He never educates, an

Quotepaulspendel I'd like to support jumpingjackflash5 here. When people like omerchy61 start to swear in their response they lose the discussion anyway. Besides writing '...till the Stones put you in your place' sounds like attributing divine powers to the Stones. Which proves some posters see the Stones as some sort of religion that can't be critisized. I agree. I have not

QuoteLynd8 I personally love the album but with "Voodoo Stew", "Voodoo Brew" and the easy to obtain B-sides, we mostly have everything we need - no? I'd rather they dip back to "It's Only Rock and Roll" and clear the decks of any outtakes from 71-74 that have not gone out yet. I could not agree more. Those who dig VL so much, should be satisfied with the

QuoteKRiffhard Imo it's "Mixed Emotions" You might be right about that. However... The riff has the feel of the Talk is Cheap album. It is indeed a cool riff! But I just don't like the lyrics... Perhaps too commercial, too personal, too polished. The lyrics also lack some nastiness... I remember being so excited when Steel Wheels and Mixed Emotions came out, and I really

Quoteexilestones The Stones wouldn't even have to photoshop Bill out of the picture, just the guy in the background with the rolling Stones baseball cap. Haha. That was a good one. I still cannot understand how they could do something like photoshopping BW out of the photo on the cover of Rarities... People talk about a lot of low points in the Stones' long career, but this one might

Could anyone dig out the song by song comments by Ben Rollins for the Complete Basement Tapes (6CD) collection? I thought I'd had it but can't seem to be able to locate it. And it's gone from the www. I'd appreciate it if someone could share it with me... Thanks in advance.

It's a lovely song. Probably the best from Keef since his first two solo albums. He really owns this song. And yes, it did sound to me as sort of a goodbye or an end to it all. It still sounds like it... Charlie was singing along in Shanghai. If he likes it, it can't be bad.

QuoteMunichhilton Assembled by accountants and designed by auditors. This release had so much incredible potential but in the end was released not for the fans, but for the quick repackaged cash grab. Seek ye the bootleg. It’s been available in its entirety for decades and is exactly what they should’ve released on this occasion... Exactly. To the point.

He was not only a great player but a very nice lad. I was lucky enough to have a conversation with him a couple of times over the years. He was also in a band called Gods that included Mick Taylor. I suggested that he should give Mick a call and see if he would be up for getting together with Ken and get some music going. He seemed genuinely interested in the idea... Unfortunately, we'll

I understand the haters. There is something we all gotta hate, don't we. I don't hate anything the Stones or its members have done. But there are songs I don't listen to a lot. One of them is Streets of Love. Hard Woman is no doubt a catchy song, something you recognize right away after the first few notes. As a teenager, I loved Hard Woman. I was already a huge Jeff Beck fa

Quoteloog droog All these years have gone by, and one of the most obvious and deserving candidates for a "sideman" induction into the RnR HoF has never been selected. Imagine "She's A Rainbow" without Nicky. You can't. I'd add... forgotten by all those musicians Nicky Hopkins helped all through the years.
