As a huge U2 fan from 1981 to the present day (saw them in October and will see them again next June), these moves (the Tower in Dublin and Edge's massive house) seem completely puzzling to me. They've always thought "BIG" and certainly their current stage has been a success (it's unbelievable when you see it in person). But why why why draw so much attention to yoursel

This is a close one, in my opinion: Best albums 1964-1968 - WINNER = The Kinks (Face to Face, Something Else, Village Green Preservation Society) no contest Best singles 1964-1968 - WINNER = The Kinks. Close but the Kinks just had way more great singles consistantly throughout this period. Best albums 1969-1973 - WINNER = The Who (Tommy, Live at Leeds, Who's Next, Quadrophenia) by

Nice to see Mick actually stand relatively still and sing a song...

Actually, Jack White would be a genius idea....he forms a new band about once a year so "sitting in" with the Stones for a year would work prefectly....except he'd totally overshadow Keith. In the White Stripes his guitar is about half the sound of the band.

Miss You, age 14, heard it on the radio a few times and realized it was that band, "The Rolling Stones" and loved it. Got the Some Girls album, then Hot Rocks soon after and was hooked.

Quoteswiss QuoteRochdale3 I would prefer month long "residencies" (15 shows or so) in 6 cities or so at 3000-5000 seat venues. Maximum 6 tickets per person for the entire month. Is that a possibility being tossed around? Only in my dreams...

Quotethe_word Thanks SilverDagger... I haven't done Stones stuff before actually... Although I did post a Stereo mix of Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, in which I tried to improve on the (still reasonably crap) version floating around on the boots. Link Here Wow! It's certainly clearer

Since this would be relatively cheap to do, they should really blow everyone away and just charge $20.00 a ticket. They could have their own website with ticket reservations. And you can only get the tickets at Will Call with your credit/debit card and matching ID, then you get a wrist band. 3000 tickets at an average of 2 per person = 1500 transactions, a transaction every 2 minutes would only

The only "great" covers (to me) are Devo - Satisfaction, Otis Redding - Satisfaction and The Soup Dragons - I'm Free. All changed the song quite a bit. I'm Free is better than the Stones version.

"PAUL MCCARTNEY Total Gross: $238,755,522 Number of Shows: 106 Total Attendance: 1,870,274 Number of Sell-Outs: 85" This averages out to 17,644 per show. Didn't Paul play a lot of larger places compared to just arenas? Surely his average would be higher. The Stones average is 31,199 which makes sense, half arenas (15000 or so) and half stadiums (50000 or so) or whatever t

I believe I only listened to the 8(?) CD bootleg once, it just went on and on! I will definitely download your shorter remixed version. Thanks for posting this and doing all the work! I always wondered if the different sections of 2000 Man were inspired by The Who's - A Quick One While He's Away which came out a year earlier.

QuotePelle who is so stupid, that you go and pee during a stones show??! isnt that something you are supose to do before the show?? but if I wait thewhole day at the arena and drink much because of the heat, then ill pee in a bottle and give to some security.. id never leave a stones gig for anything, seriously.. Exactly! Pee before the show starts. These are the same people that get up 45 m

It's best when a band does it from the beginning of a song, the singer just doesn't start singing the song, the crowd does it instead. About all the singer does is perhaps cup his ear to let the crowd know it's OK to sing. The band will completely stop playing but the crowd keeps singing. U2, Tom Petty & Bruce Springsteen have done this many times and not just for a couple

The real key with new songs is to play ones that are actually....really good live!!!! Not slow ones, not mid-tempo, not complex but ones that have a really good groove (and not necessarily hard rockers either) and are likeable on first listen. On U2's 360 tour they were playing a good 7-8 new songs each night in huge stadiums. I'm sure a good 2/3rds of the audience didn't eve

I'll admit that TCU has looked better all year (barely) so it should be a very good game. More importantly it will set up next year (Boise State only loses 4 of 22 starters and TCU 6?, that's amazing!). Both should be ranked very high and may actually have a chance at the national championship game if they can win all their games. I think both teams could beat Texas this year, they c
