Rick Derringer has passed - never a huge fan but did enjoy his work with Johnny Winter ( the live album is pretty killer ) and with Edgar Winter-- believe he also produced frankenstein for the Edgar Winter Group. He was 77 Rick Derringer, Guitar Journeyman Behind ‘Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo,’ Dead at 77 (RollingStone.com)

So sad to hear this - when I was doing my radio program I would do entire evenings of the band- Garth and his wife maude were great contributors to those programs, sending me all kinds of unreleased songs and rarities. I interviewed him once and I have to say it was wild. I would ask a question and he would play piano for a couple of minutes before answering...we talked a lot about the band as we

Nick Lowe is awesome. His solo work, his time with Rockpile, the music he produced for Carlene Carter, Elvis Costello and others is terrific Recently saw him perform with Los Straitjackets and it was a blast ! Wish he and Dave Edmunds would bury the hatchet and do something together again-- would love to see Rockpile gettogether for another one

He's the best ! What a great catalog of music -- his work with the Beatles has been covered a million times, but there was so many great albums and tracks during his solo years, as well as his work with Ravi Shankar and of course, the Willburys ! Happy to have been alive in your time George ! You made the world a better place !

I agree that the Monkees should be in the R & R Hall of Fame -- they had an incredibly enjoyable string of hits and deeper tracks during their time together. Who cares if studio musicians played on their first couple albums-- LOTS of famous bands had the Wrecking Crew ply on their records: The Byrds 1st, Beach Boys Pet Sounds & Smile, etc-- Some Monkee tracks also featured Neil Young, Bud
