Bettino's in the 11th is excellent, also the Marché aux Puces is well worth a visit (on the first floor - records and memorabilia).

I have an 'MT' Come On - you used to be able to pick them up at UK record fairs for around £20, depending on condition. Discogs has two MT releases listed - one with the MT on the left-hand side and one with the MT on the right-hand side (the one I have). No for sale listings on Discogs at the moment, but they seem to come up fairly regularly.

Vinyl version has the original four and a half minute or so edit of Slave - do digital versions have the longer six and a half minute version that was released on CD in the 1990s? Also crappy edit (sounds like a jump at around 2.50 point) on Fiji Jim - is this on digital versions as well?

Been a fan of Mott and Ian Hunter for getting on for 50 years now - I think Brain Capers and Mott their best albums, and Ian's last few albums have been wonderful. In his latest Horse's Mouth column on his website (www.ianhunter.com), Ian remembers attending a Stones rehearsal in Woodstock along with Mick Ronson. Apparently Stu stood up from the piano asking Ian to join in, but he &q

Many thanks Mr Keys Re Curtis Meets Smokey, some years ago someone (sorry can't remember the poster's name) posted the "ABCKO Master Tape" files. Curtis Meets Smokey is listed as being on the same tape reel (Box RS-06 tape S33) as Hillside Blues and Memo From Turner - so assume from 1969?

Many thanks Captain, I've been after this for a while. I have the single CD version that came with the initial copies of the Bowie at the Beeb set, which sounded superb, so it will be interesting to hear this.

I bought one fairly cheap a couple of years ago expecting the worst. I was surprised to find it had no CD rot and was perfectly playable, and still is. This one is #2233. I have had CD rot on other CDs though - the CD takes on a bronze-ish colour, the edges go dark and brittle and start to break off. Unfortunately you can't do anything about it, no amount of cleaning will resolve the issu

I've got an old wooden bowl I found down a well at Glasto a few years ago. It's really tatty and has a dark red stain at the bottom. Thing is, on certain days when you hold it up to the sunlight I swear you can hear a band of angels singing 'You Can't Always Get What You Want'. It's just sitting on my mantlepiece, going nowhere. Is this the sort of thing Wilff wants,

Don't know if this will be of any help, but this website has links to hundreds of Peel Sessions: It has youtube links to Costello's complete Peel sessions for 25.7.77, 13.3.78, 23.10.78 and 25.2.80. This is a really useful website for anyone looking for a particular Peel session.
