If you really want to know how much better BLU_RAY AUDIO can be, get the Doobie Brothers QUADIO set that includes 4 of their classic albums in DTS high-resolution Stereo and Quad. All you need is a blu-ray player and 4 speakers. As good as CDs are in terms of sound, they don't have the capability to produce this kind of playback.

Like many others, I bought the Miami concert and it certainly is rather poor audio which prompted me to buy the Voodoo Lounge Live In Japan. It definitely has better sound. SFTD

I'm going with Emotional Rescue. Mick sounds like one of his ex girlfriends has his short and curlies in the grasp of their hand and squeezing the life out of his junk. Ouch !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping that somebody had purchased this DVD / 2CD vault release from Amazon very recently. SFTD

That's exactly what I'm worrying about that the only way you would know what your buying is imprinted on the actual CD's. (matrix numbers) In that case I would be stuck with the same two defaulty CD's with switched channels. If I were to re-buy the Toyko Dome on DVD / 2CD or Blu-ray / 2CD today in 2020, I 'm afraid I wouldn't get the proper discs. SFTD

For this vault release, early issues suffered from reverse left and right channels on the CD's. (Not sure about the DVD's as well) Was this problem ever fixed if one was to re-buy the title from Amazon now. ??? SFTD

If that is all that is on CD3, then that's a big disappointment for the deluxe 6 disc set. I'll take the blu-ray plus 2 CD set at a lot less cost.

I was faced with the exact same problem in creating a large playlist for the iPOD. This may sound absolutely crazy, but I used my ear to detect a difference in volume which by the way can detect a 3 dB difference aka double / half volume. Of course, its by no means exacting but when you are faced with several hundred recordings from different CD sources what other choice do you have. Trust me wh

I remember buying the LP when it first came out and wishing it was a 2 disc set. It always seemed short-changed and lacking something. Live stones were limited aside from poor-sounding bootlegs. Today, we have the complete Hampton concert which definitely supercedes STILL LIFE.

StonedRambler: You absolutely hit the nail on the head. I couldn't have said it better. Why would they issue two concerts from 1998 that are almost the same when there are so many missing tours that have no official release. Several months ago there was an announcement about future releases to include 1989, 1976, 1997 and 2002 that would fill the gaps and maybe even do a full 1969 and

After reading several comments on this thread about this release, I have confirmation that my ears are fine, abet I suffer from some hearing loss, that this release is by far the worst of any of the previous vault releases. How did this get released with this quality. First, the sound level seems low compared to other concerts and the guitars are mixed way too low. You want proof as to how bad th

I would like to point out that the Japanese SHM-SACDs were also available for Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, TSMR, Big Hits and Through The Past Darkly. These five titles along with Sticky Fingers thru to Dirty Work inclusive are the cream of the crop. The SHM-SACDs are single layer ---- no redbook layer and will only play on an SACD player. The 2002 dual layer SACDs from ABKRO when played o

Well, if it is just a Japan release only, at least there are really good bootlegs of this MARCH 12, 1995 concert available for the rest of us. While it is a Japan exclusive, it is available as an import in March 2019 so if you are willing to pay a premium price for it, you can get it via Amazon or directly from Japan.

All of the above are welcome; however, what I would most treasure would be BRUSSELS 1973 either separately or part of a box set. How about as part of a Goat's Head Soup deluxe ???

As I'm sure most of you members are aware, the left and right channels were reversed on the official CD's for the LIVE AT TOKYO DOME 1990 release. I know there was some attempts at getting replacement CDs from the supplier but not everybody was successful. My question is whether a new batch was ever issued to the stores, correcting the problem of reversed channels. Please advis

I had a listen to the CD yesterday and found the sound to favour the left channel to a large degree. Also, the overall sound is quite muddy. There certainly wasn't much effort put into the mastering to try and improve the sound. SFTD

I'm talking about " ALL THE SONGS ". I should mention that there are other songs missing from the book; for example, CRACKIN UP and MANNISH BOY from Love You Live among some other lesser known song titles. However; despite the occasional missed song, this book is a keeper.

What's the general concensus with regard to the sound quality of the TOKYO 1990 CD's. Personally, I found them lacking in highs. Comments welcome. Regards SFTD As a follow-up, I elected to switch out the RCA cables for a fibre optic cable between the cd player & receiver and played back the Tokyo 1990 CD's. Much better now with improved highs. OK, so it's been verified that the channels are reversed for the Tokyo 1990 CD's. Excuse my ignorance, but what's the big deal ????????? Are we missing something audio-wise ??? I listened to some of the songs from CD # 1 and if I didn't know that the channels were reversed, I wouldn't know that there was any problem. It sounded fine to me. SFTD

so long as they keep releasing more of the " FROM THE VAULT " CD / DVD series releases, I would be marginally O.K. if Quebec City was the last show.
