Sad news... just read about it this morning. I was glad to see Lanrue live with Rio in 1986 at the Wartesaal in Köln and 2014 together with Kai Sichtermann and Funky Götzner again in Köln (I think they called the band Scherben Family). Always loved Lanrue's guitar playing and yes... he had his own sound but very similar to Keith!

I had a similar experience in the 80s at the Sportschule Hennef. The German team stayed there and a friend of mine asked me to come with him. I was not very much interested in soccer. He had a few black and white press photographs of Franz in the late 60s because his uncle worked for a lokal newspaper. When we met Franz he shook our hands, lokked at the photographs and told us "Ah, this was

Quoteslewan QuoteBlueTurns2Grey RIP Franz. It was such a pleasure to watch you play football. We have lost one of the greats, as a person and as a footballer. Beckenbauer was surely a great footballer but rather a Dummschwätzer (German for a person who talks without thinking) than a great person - even when he talked about football. Si tacuisset, philosophum maneret PS: I once met him in p

Quoteswimtothemoon Looks like it’s mounted on cardboard? It’s a nice clean good looking poster. Probably authentic and was used to promote the record release. To be sure of authenticity you should compare (both poster size and image quality) to a known authentic example. Some of these early promotional posters are very rare - with only a handful surviving. You may be right because not even M

It's not mounted on cardboard, it's just in a frameless holder. That was the cheapest solution for me as pupil. I think I have to change that frame... It's printed on relatively thin paper and I remember that I had to carry it in my hand (rolled and a paperbag around the middle to avoid the sweat of my hands will make it wavy) all the way from London to Cologne because I only had

It's not that important for me if it's authentic or not. I just wanted to share it here with you on IORR and maybe get some information about it.

Lutz, age 58 from Cologne, Germany. Was 13/14 years old, found GTYYO in my father's record collection, didn't like it. One or two years later bought Sticky Fingers on cassette (italian version) at a supermarket at a rummage table because I liked the cover and thought "I like the image of this cool band even if I don't really like/understand their music". After listenin

Hi, bought this at a store at Carnaby Street in the 80s. Long time ago... Was stored among other things in the garage and found it last weekend. Still like it and will hang it on my walls again. What I want to know: Is this a genuine merchandise poster from the 60s?

In November I saw Darryl live in Leverkusen, Germany. He played in a band called Jazz/Takes Supergroup, including Bill Evans (sax), Niels Lan Doky (keys), Harvey Mason (drums). The performance was fimed and is available here (but maybe only in Germany..): Darryl played great, he's definitely a great jazz musician. The whole band had so much fun, Darryl played fantastic soli. I think playin

From an interview with Niki... shows his kind of humour: "Well, that was one of those american morningshows, they came to the Nürburgring, and such a woman, tall, blond, everything, wanted to interview me at the accident site. They all had said: Ui, he will cry for sure, that will be a very emotional moment! But I've taken a kipferl (kind of a croissant) from the hotel buffet and put

Great show in Cologne! I'm no BS fan, I have only 2 LPs of the guys. But I thought maybe I should see them on stage for the first and last time... It was worth the money!

It was my second Stones concert, first show was Munich. 34 years ago and the boys are still rockin' the house! Poor Peter Maffay... although I don't like his music I think that was very unfair. Nice to see my photos poppin up here again!
