I have a short video on youtube.com of myself playing the song. I happen to think it's pretty good. Just go to the site and search for honky tonk women, you will see it, the audio and visual synch may not be that great, but it might help some.

Cool stuff Elmo. I wonder how many other folks can say that they saw KISS back in the hey day. I would be curious to see if any saw them on the 79 Dynasty tour.

Unplugged was the first album I purchased by KISS. I didn't want to get anything to dressed up by them, np pun intended. I had just started playing guitar and I wanted something that was pure, just guitars, drums and vocals, no huge Marshall amps, Les Pauls, etc. So I purchased Unplugged on my 9th grade field trip to Washington DC. The first song is "Coming Home" off of t

The origianl version of the KISS cover can be found on the 1979 LP "Dynasty" adn the unplugged version come out in 95 on "Unplugged" On the unplugged version Ace introduces the song by saying..."Here something from two old friends of mine Mick Jagger and Keith Richards"

For all of Ace's personal and drug problems..he is the sole reason that I got turned on to every other 60's/70's band - Stones, Zep, Cream, Free, Bad Company, the list goes on and he also influenced alot of young guitar players today...smoke and rockets, who'd ah thunk it? And in the early 80's when KISS wanted to get critical, he is the one that said. NO, stick wiht t

If you have ever witnessed KISS play "I was Made for Loving you" live, then you have really heard that song rock. Sure, the album cut was kind of glitzy and what not, but live that songs a real rocker. To hear Paul Stanley sing that one live, what a treat...you really get to see how strong his voice is. I truly think he is one of the best frontmen ever. Plus, they always give

Try to play live versions of the songs. Listen to them a couple of times and you can hear some things that Keith does to mix up his playing a bit. Listent to some early 70's Stones live cuts and you can hear Keith doing alot more runs on parts of some songs.

Trey Anastasio in Durham, NC. Though he is not a fave of mine, I thought his musical ability, band and overall quality of performance was great. Had a relaxed vibe that I dug. Great guitar work and good cover of "I am the Walrus"

Well, with Keef songs, you have to listen, and you also have to watch. He changes the phrasing on so many of his songs live, especially HTW, but even by watching and listening will, I or anyone else be able to get that swing and stagger that Keef does. Thanks for the comment.

Again, open to praise and criticism is my playing of "Honky Tonk Women." As before, with TD, I am using my acoustic and open g of course, with a combination of finger picking and using the pick. Here is the link...

Well, WH has some funky chords in open g. If you have the video to WH from Stripped where they are playing in the studio that will help greatly. THe basic chords to the song are G Am for the intro THe verse, Bm, G, where he starts to sing,"the the tings you wanted..." it goes to an Am and walks to a C, then D to G. The Chorus almost follows the same pattern - Am, C, D, G, F

Yeah, it's in open G, of course, is there anything else, lol. I switch up quite often from open G to standard. I have figured out that there is only one way to play "wild Horses" IMO, and that is open G. Again, I appreciate all the thanks, and even teh criticism, it will only to serve to make my playing better.

I think the problem with some Stones song live, and other bands, they rely too much on the supporting cast to carry the burden of the song, until it's solo time. I plan on posting more videos on myspace of various songs song. I am thinking "Wild Horses" or "Honky Tonk Women" may be next. BTW, if anyone has myspace out there, feel more than welcomed to add me, I thi

Thanks for the warm regards, i really do think, and know from personal experience that music brings folks together. The signature I use I got form a book I read while I was attending a small college in the sandhills of north Carolina about 45 minutes east of my hometown of Rockingham, NC. I play guitar in a band in my hometwon, mostly classic and southern rock, and some country, but of co

Think this is kinda an original post...maybe. Anyway, I would have to be "Dead Flowers." Sure it is one of their more popular hits, but damn, that's me in a nutshell. Coming in, in a close second would be, "Let it Bleed," and finally, bringing up the rear would be"Shine a Light."

As great as the music was for the Knebworth the backup vocals were attrocious, but I think, atleast to me, that was what made Knebworth what it was. ragged, off key, but remarkable and raw, all qualities that only the greatest band scan possess. Yes, Ronnie's solo at Knebworth was fantastic, you can see in the video clips how much emotion he puts into that solo, so smooth, yet so simple,

It is not terribly hard to play that way, however, to be good at it, it takes time, certainly Keith has had time to perfect the pattern. If you know it, when Keith is really in the groove that's when he really starts playing high on the neck. When the band I was in was playing "Brown Sugar" I used to do that when the crowd really got into it, of course, all in homage to the r
