QuoteSpud Lets be positive ... Maybe they're arguing about which ten of the hundred great tracks they've cut will be the first of the ten planned album releases . And at the same time as the RS are pondering this, the Davies brothers are discussing the setlist for the opening show of the long-awaited Kinks reunion ! WHAT Kinks reunion I hear you ask ? O, you know, the one

QuoteSimonN Hello, Here's my shoddy match report from Thursday in Manch... First time seeing the man who wrote and played on as fine a string of songs that any American band (or perhaps any other) produced. Don’t believe me? Just take a gander at the setlist… Bad Moon Rising Up Around the Bend Green River Born on the Bayou Rock and Roll Girls Who'll Stop the Rain Lookin&#

Quotemkbbcmr Quotepaulywaul Quotemkbbcmr Ray Davies will be 79 in June. Still going strong, even considering a Kinks reunion. Seriously. Again. Don't hold your breath. Legend. The Davies brothers have been teasing us with the prospect of a KINKS reunion for what feels like an eternity. It just becomes ridiculous, and quite frankly rather annoying, after a while ! Either do it - or shut

QuoteManofwealthandtaste I saw her at Wembley Arena on her Private Dancer Tour in 1985, with guest Bryan Adams as support. What a performer! Sad news indeed. Thank you for reminding me Mr Chris, when it was that I saw her. It was exactly there and then ...... I couldn't recall ! Dear o dear, what a loss. But I never realised she'd developed such health problems ....

QuoteRisingStone Got back from the RAH night #1. It was like a mini-English version of Crossroads Guitar Festival. Fantastic 3-hour event and some unusual song selection — a reggae version of Shapes Of Things by Clapton, anyone? Expensive, yes, but worth it. Ronnie played bass for Rice Pudding, saying, “back to the Jeff Beck Band.” I don’t think he said Jeff Beck “Group”. Glad to hear th

QuoteStoneage ...If they had chosen to go out on top they should have stopped after the 1981/82 tour. They didn't, to the delight of many fans here and millions of concertgoers. But I would argue with anyone claiming they have been on top ever since. EXACTLY !! In the end, that's all that matters. I was one of those concertgoers, and I'm hardly gonna say that I didn't l

Quotemicha063 Thy toured again since 2012 and their shows still are on top level. They have fun and enjoy doing it as we do. They earn a lot of money doing it, because millions of people went to see them live. They don't need a new album. And if it's not successful, they damage their extreme successfull career. Blue And Lonesome was done quickly and without any risk. I enjoyed th

QuoteBeast The UK has produced so many great bands and solo artists. I am therefore baffled as to why someone thought it a good idea not to have UK or Commonwealth artists headlining an event like the Coronation Concert. Makes no sense, unless they were all asked and declined the invitation, which I somehow doubt. I suspect that a fair number were asked but politely declined ... Anti-monarch

I didn't attend any of the U.S. shows in 2019 & 2021, so my immediate points of comparison from recent years are Europe 2018 and Europe 2022. If I compare the seven shows from 2018 (Coventry, Cardiff, London, Berlin, Marseille, Prague, Warsaw) with the five from 2022 (Munich, London twice, Vienna, and Berlin), I can honestly say that I didn't detect any significant deterioration

I was lucky enough to catch his last ever performance in a London theatre, this was some years ago. My friends and I were in the very front row, and during Sir Les' memorable stint, we were cra**ing ourselves, wondering when we were gonna get sprayed with saliva ..... ! Fortunately, when he sprayed, others got it, not us !! He was a star, a true megastar !! RIP
