Quotegotdablouse QuoteDandelionPowderman Sounds like classic Keith with Micawber to me, but with a drive and attack I haven't heard for years. The guitar is tuned in open F, though, so that's a first. Check out Mel Belli's YouTube video for a more detailed analysis. Huh, Keith has indeed not played like that for years, possibly decades ! I'm going to listen again clo

Saw the show in Zurich. I thought it was one of the most well thought out shows I‘ve ever been too. And I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the uneasiness and disbelief in the faces of the tight-jeans-with-white-ON-sneakers-boomers around me! Really looking forward to the film and hope Roger has energy for another tour. Even more young people would turn out for his concerts these days.

QuoteStonedRambler QuoteMonkeyMan2000 What a lot of people miss, imo, is that Darryl‘s playing, especially live, is part of a „professionalisation“ effort since the 90s. He plays basic stuff, a lot of roots in eights. But that‘s why the song doesn‘t turn into a trainwreck as soon as the two guitarists wave to fans or are in the middle of figuring out the next chord He‘s part of what keeps it

It‘s a one pickup Gibson L5S that was made for him. Keith later used it with the winos. In 2004 or 2005 Gibson produced a few more of them. I found one last year and it‘s such a nice rocking instrument! Aaaand of course there‘s Ronnie‘s signature double pickup model from a few years ago which he also uses live a lot these days

The Tiny Desk series' Rap and Hip Hop concerts are a great way for the purists on here to discover that every genre has a right to exist and a right to be called music. The Little Simz Tiny Desk is utterly fantastic, for example!

I think Moon is Up is great. It would have certainly grown into a great concert song had they given it the chance. The instrumental guitar sections of the song and the break down in the middle with Charlie's snare hits especially work well. I'm a bit pissed about the sound of the record. Way too much reverb on everything and no character.

In the scientific debate on the quality of Keith's guitar playing, I am of the opinion that Keith plays better with bandanas than with beanies

I think they'll have to repost it on YouTube, because the sound wasn't right. (The right channel was missing)

Can't wait to see some of this footage in a first promo clip! Let's hope they saw it as important as El Mocambo and invested in a good mix!

That‘s cool! Would be great to see a Love Rock‘s album with the three appearances. Make No Mistake was fantastic - especially considering that Keith hadn‘t played it for so long. (Edit: Ah the 2015 gig was another occasion, not Love Rocks.) But Before They Make Me Run from this performance is extremely rocking!

I wonder whether a gig in Switzerland will be possible. Normally they try to make up for cancelled concerts on the next tour. But next year, there's the Women's European Football Cup which will take up stadium dates. Also, the Swiss promoter who did all of the Stones' concerts in Switzerland the last few decades already said that he could not organize a stadium gig in 2025, after

If they tour Europe next year, I think a stop in Switzerland is a safe bet as they always try to make up for cancelled shows. The Swiss promoter said something along the lines of „Mick promised it to me“…

I think we can be very proud of our band! What started out little worrying to me seems to have turned into the best tour of the last few years! (don't need no powerage comment under this compliment )

You can definetly tell by phone video if they are playing well. However the atmosphere and overall energy is part of the concert being perceived as good or not and that can only be judged by being at the show. Even a show where they are not playing that well can create lasting magic memories.

Just a reminder that they did two tour debuts at the last show of the tour in 2022 and they were both not part of the vote: All Down The Line and Fool to Cry. So I guess anything can happen within the rehearsed song list in the last shows.

To be fair, I think Ronnie plays Shattered differently now because Keith doesn‘t/can‘t do the fast chugging anymore (he does the riff stroking up and down) and has missed the bridge sometimes on recenet tours (not this one though). So Ronnie plays the riff with Keith instead of that great counterline and in the bridge he just playes the first solo notes and then moves on to the chords instead of

In 2022, a lot of my favorite young bands were played over the PA: Altin Gün, Nu Genea, Sault...they played more than one tune by each band. Give them a listen! Those were the names I wrote down in the thread we had for the Sixties Tour: Free - Sault (was my favorite song for a while) another song by Sault, don‘t remember the name You ain‘t the problem - Michael Kiwanuka One More Night - M

I‘m sad for the Swiss…in my view they played the better tournament than England and would have deserved to reach the semi finals for the first time.

Quotekeefriffhards QuoteChristopher What great weather for the concert! Hoping to hear Live With Me. Sure hope we get Rambler again. Ready for Heaven again. Hope they haven't dropped it from the set list. Maybe Chanel was too much on this song. She seemed to overpower Mick and not collaborate. Although I am Happy with the 3 Keith songs, no pun intended. I get the same impressio

QuoteTestify ...It seems like a surreal discussion...but do you think Ronnie and the others don't know what key the songs are playing in? Really ? Those are the keys they use in concerts. No, some of the keys on the setlist are just wrong and not the key that they are actually playing in concert. But, yeah, I don‘t know who actually uses the key indications because I can‘t imagine Ronnie o

The guitars are tuned down a half step for Angry (and I think for WWW too). So while it looks like they are playing it in B, the key is actually Bb. Emotional Rescue would be a song in A# or Bb, I‘m sure there are others as well…

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteMonkeyMan2000 I'm amazed how these key indications behind the songs never seem to lead to problems. Some of them are just plain wrong haha Isn't Angry in B? Otherwise they all look right. They play Angry in Bb, so that‘s true. Mess It Up is in D. Let‘s Spend the Night is G major, Little T&A would be F or Dm and Tell Me Straight is in G. With these two

QuoteSoulSurvivor1990 The 2017 tour as a whole was underwhelming. Zurich being the best isn't saying much, but it's the most well played show and probably the best set list of the tour. Keith did his best playing of the tour at that show. IMO, there were way better shows in 2017 at the end of the tour. Out of the 11 shows I saw that tour (including Zurich), Arnhem and Paris II were ea

Out of the 27 shows I saw since I became a fan in 2014, the performances of Street Fighting Man at the end of the No Filter tour 2017, especially those in Paris, belong to the most transcendental experiences I've had with the band. As they played the song in the last part of the show, they drew it out and took it to higher heights. While it was a great opener in 2018 and 2022, the song never
