I've given the new album a good spin now. A solid effort. I look forward to seeing them live in a few months.

Quoteliddas QuoteDandelionPowderman IMO, only three ABB-tracks are good enough to be included on HD (RJ, LMDS and LIND). Here I have to disagree! For fun I made a playlist of ABB songs trying to replicate the HD scheme to better compare the two albums. Not necessarily my favs off ABB, I followed HD's track list and tried to find a counterpart in ABB. This is what I came up with R

Quotemjmjr QuoteVoodooLounge13 Really loving Wanting and Waiting. To me it’s better than anything on HD!! It’s got more soul. It rocks. And it sounds authentic. Anyone know who the new lead guitarist is? The video is pretty great too. You can't be serious NURSE!!!!!!! For the love of God get Voodoo's medication sharpish.

What was I expecting for this new Stones album? In all honesty I was hoping for another latter day Stones album at the most. I would have been more than happy with that. From Steel Wheels to A Bigger Bang they have all had some songs that I really liked, some I only liked, some I thought were pretty average, and a few I did not rate. However, after a really good listen to Hackney Diamonds I w

What I'm amazed by is how selling 5000 copies in The UK gets you in the top ten these days.

QuoteLondonLee QuoteLondonLee Not a great album, in fact far from it, and feels very much like a mixture of a Mick solo album with a mixture of Stones tracks that weren't released because they weren't deemed decent enough to be put on a B side. 4 excellent tracks - Angry, Sweet sounds... , Tell me Straight and Rolling Stones Blues but for me the rest I'm happy to have listened t

Quotepeoplewitheyes Hahaha, Keefriffhards - is that review your own work? We all hear that you don't like the new album, you've said it loud and clear many times. But what is hard to understand is why you keep appearing on this thread to repeat yourself. You don't like it? That's cool, move on. Start a thread about your favourite period, or an observation from an era th

Quotebobo Quotekeefriffhards A more honest down to earth review from a guy who actually knows this band/music and their potential. So all the other reviews haven’t been honest?? Oh my, so I have been fooled, can’t believe this. He is a troll. Do not feed.....

QuoteMonkeyMan2000 Quotekeefriffhards Its ridiculous to say I'm not a Stones fan because i can't understand the new album, i remember how thrilled i was when i first played Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge, it's surely okay to be confused by the direction you see 80 year old Keith take. It's not that I'm not a Stones fan it's that this is a Jagger/ Andrew Watts

Quotekeefriffhards If it didn't far exceed what some of us expected is that okay, is it tolerable for a few of us real Stones fans of Stones music to be disappointed. Oh give it a rest will you. You don't like it..... Fair enough. How many times are you going to say it though? "Is it tolerable for a few of us real Stones fans of Stones music to be disappointed". Real

I don't express an opinion on an album until I've listened to it at least 10 times. However, I can tell you one thing. It was a nice feeling after all these years to go into my local HMV this morning to buy a NEW ROLLING STONES ALBUM.

Quotegotdablouse Glad to see the show happened but no Bill ! Hope bv got it and will soon have a report for us ;-) Quotemakustone Angry Wow, that sounds pretty bad, slow, Keith fumbling around :-( Looking forward to hearing WWW. Another idiot that judges music from a few seconds recorded with a mobile phone with terrible sound quality. Dear oh dear....... When will these people learn?

QuoteRollingFreak QuoteHardRiffin to say that it is not a good album or that it is disappointing seems absurd to me. Free to say so...but absurd. The same way those saying its brilliant, legendary and untouchable are absurd but we all have opinions. The thing is though.......... It could be the best album they have ever made and you would still say it was ****.

I'm old school so I have not heard the album, and will not until I go to HMV on Friday to buy it. Reading the reviews is encouraging though. You know that a lot of critics would love to give The Stones a bad review because The Stones are not social justice warriors, unlike so many critics themselves these days. Boxes are not ticked and they don't like that. The reviews are all similar,

QuoteBjorn They dress and act much cooler than Stones. Pirate/cowboy - a dangerous gang! Erm .....no they don't. They look exactly like they did in the 70s, but they are now in their 70s. They look a little silly. I still love them though..

Nice to see that Neil has finally seen sense and let go of all that Covid craziness he was hanging onto long after the vast majority had seen sense. Ballsy setlist as well. I like it.....

Bad idea for GNR to play Glastonbury in this day and age. It has become a wretched woke middle class festival for right-on university types. Even if they were great (they aren't) they still would have gone down like a lead balloon because they do not tick the right boxes. Take a look at Elton..... He was dreadful and we all know it. He can barely walk, he can barely sing (not as bad as po

Quotefrenki09 All time best? Bob knows it: The Beatles. Obviously. But Bob is Robert. I am sure he believed what he said at that very moment, on the other hand he knows we are listening... You ask him a day later and he'd say something different... Bob is talking about Rock n Roll bands. The Beatles were truly great, but they are more pop than Rock n Roll.

Love The Boss, but he cannot do soul. As for the outrageous ticket fiasco...... Bruce is a typical Champagne Socialist but with a fake working man persona added in. Talking and writing about the blue- collared worker while making sure they cannot afford go to his gigs. It's not a good look Bruce.

When you are used to watching The Premier League and then you watch The World Cup you realise just how dull international football really is. I’ve seen some dull games in my time but that one last night. Dear oh dear. To think that The Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and other domestic competitions were postponed for this guff makes my piss boil.

QuoteNikkei QuoteDandelionPowderman No, not at all. Loved it. When Taylor returned not even he could do the Taylor solo in a way that would satisfy Mathijs. So it was shorter than before. It was shorter because Jagger wants it shorter. He thinks that the crowd will not like an extended jam. Mick Ts solo from CYHMK is a great, but simple piece of guitar playing. He most certainly could ha
