Was a really fantastic show from start to finish. Ended up near the front of Section 125 with lucky dip. There were scores of empty seats there (e.g. 2 entire rows behind us), presumably unsold because it was a "limited view" section based on the back speaker stands (see pic below). Filled in by second half of show, people probably telling buddies in nosebleeds. But really,

I like the simplicity of the big tongue poster, but "Zip Code" font is way too big. Happy with the song vote choices. Would like them to play all of those songs to be honest. If it's a true vote, then I'd say Street Fighting Man will win. Hoping for a Dallas reference with Rip This Joint in the #3 slot, though that might be a long shot.

The top 2 VIP packages are all gone; and there's only singles in the next two levels. They've basically sold the entire collection of "good/OK" seats at VIP price levels. Would have paid $400 for a good seat, but almost impossible to pull any up as they were all reserved for VIP packages. So I just went the opposite direction with the lucky dip, but due to demand I am alm

Quotedrbryant With all due respect, your scale seems wrong. AA Arena is a pretty large arena. I believe capacity is 20,000 or so. A US football field is pretty narrow, so unless it can accommodate a soccer field, it's probably about 100 seats across. Assuming 40 rows to the end of the first section, that's only 4000 seats in the front half of the field, where you've managed to

I hope people aren't losing sight of the scale. I chucked back some Row 34, Section C tickets for Dallas, and wondered, maybe I should have kept them? Did some Google mapping, transposed to rough scales the Cowboys Stadium and American Airlines (took a map for The Who) seating charts. The entire floor of an arena show (i.e. basketball court) is taken up by the two front central blocks (

Had Row 34 in Section C with regular AMEX. Not the worst I suppose, would have been near the end of catwalk. But I only selected 1 ticket by mistake. Tried for 2 and was kicked back to the $80 bleacher seats, then none available. Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, OKC ... on a Saturday ... the Arlington show has huge demand. You can't even buy a pair of Diamond VIP pac

For Raleigh, the "official platinum seats" look better than the actual VIP packages. The only thing of any interest in the VIP "package" is the lithograph (worth about $50). Raleigh you could get absolute front row and centre (i.e. next to the catwalk) on Keith's side for $1663/ticket (gone as I typed this). Row 3 was $1568 (also now gone), and Row 4 drops to $1254.

Mick would probably render this list irrelevant because Miss You and IORR aren't on there.

If anyone is curious about stage setup or ticket tiers, I would suggest using the Adelaide Oval show from last year as a guide (for American friends, NFL stadiums have a much smaller playing field than a cricket ground). Some pics below. Plenty of youtube videos that can be found showing the screens, etc. Not sure on exact prices, but I think they would be comparable or even a bit cheaper (

Neil Young's rig. That big thing is not actually an amp, just a speaker cabinet, but cool nonetheless. I think it is the only one in the world. I think Neil does use a Magnatone in his sound.

It probably is one of their most important songs, depending on how you define that. Everybody in the crowd knows it, and it was the main single (and reached #1 in the US) from their highest selling album in the US (ignoring Hot Rocks). I'd say 95% of the crowd loves it when they play Miss You. It gets one of the biggest reactions and crowd involvements. There's no way Mick will

I read a story that an expert (testifying in the Michael Jackson case) is a sleep advisor to the Stones (and NASA and the CIA). Surely they have coffee and laundry advisors?

QuoteBig Al Quote48yearsaRSfan Reed and Neil Young are correct. They're correct to an extent, but they're both being totally OT about it. Times change. So should they. Actually Neil has moved with the times more than most. He is one of the very few to embrace Blu-Ray as a format for delivering albums with the highest sound quality possible. He's also had discussions (with Ga

I can sort of see where you are coming from with respect to rehearsals or difficulties of having 3 guitars ... but if they can bring in the likes of Paisley/Urban/Grohl/Raitt to work out songs in the afternoon of the show, then they could also easily do this with Taylor. Especially something like Dead Flowers, it would take them about 10 minutes to work that out with Mick T replacing what Paisle

Quotespsimmons Here's an off topic question, but seeing "Crazy Horse" made me think of the lyric in Live With Me, "She's found the crazy horse" What does that mean?!?!? I tried to search the internet for an answer, but no luck. I'm not really sure if it is related, but Crazy Horse is a name given to a few strip clubs. Whether they be chains or not, but I kn

I remember seeing them at Red Rocks, starting a tour billed as the "Americana" tour. So Neil comes out and plays zero songs from that album, and plays all these even newer songs from a yet to be released album that nobody has even heard before. And two of those songs ... Walk Like A Giant and Ramada Inn ... are just spectacular if you like the long jam style of the Horse. He doesn&

Quotefahthree I'm sitting in a bar in Boston right now and fail to see why this has to be played here just because it drops the name of the town. Wasn't it played here in 2006. Doesn't the Boston reference in Rambler satiate the need for acknowledgment? Waiting On A Friend should win - it won't though because the people who vote for this are dopes. I guess I would be a dope

Neil is my all time favourite. With Crazy Horse, it is just something special/magic. I think this tour is so good because they are energized with playing new material from an album which is Neil's best in decades. If anyone cares, here is a neat chart which tracks the shows/setlists:

As someone who has been living in Austin for 3 years and saw him play a little before he started to really take off, it's great to see him getting his dues. I remember seeing him last year 3 times, each time the crowd had literally grown about 10 fold ... 200 in a club, 2000 at Stubb's, then 20000 at ACL festival.

QuoteThrylan I am going solely on the Jagger quote of,"surely we can find another 6'3" guitarist that can do his own make up." That's a stretch, but he looked a bit taller. Of course Jagger would say that ... that makes him over 6ft tall himself.

Watching Win Butler on stage, also reminded me how short all of the Stones are. I find it strange you could get so many guys together (including Wyman and Jones ... at 168cm, the shortest of the lot) and have them all largely being midgets. Maybe Taylor the only one who might be "average" height. Not to mention Chuck and Bobby Keys are also midgets. How tall was Ian Stewart? D

The Chicago shows are in: Gross = $16,524,615 Total attendance = 43,763 (supposedly 3 sellouts) Average attendance per show = 14,588 Average price per ticket = $378 Average gross per show = $5.5 million. A bit of an improvement for all averages on the previous shows, but I actually thought they would do better in Chicago and gross a bit more. Still well behind the 2012 show averages fo

Quotemaradona Why is it always the same songs? Maybe to try and convince people it is kind of a real vote? They can't have rehearsed or know hundreds of songs. Maybe they are just putting songs up for vote that they can actually play. I wouldn't be surprised if they were still using the voting as some kind of overall popularity gauge, even if they don't really play the winni

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Beyonce make an appearance. I looked up her schedule, and she just finished a European tour, and is back relaxing in NYC for 3 weeks before starting a US tour. Not far for the Philly or Boston shows.
