To get real for a second- if you never saw Led Zeppelin live you can’t even imagine what is was like. I saw Metallica open for GnR back in the 90s and I actually started laughing. These little guys were trying so hard. Do you have a train track near your house? I want you to go as close to it as humanly possible and stand there when the next freighter comes through. Your hair will blow back,

This is really fun and it’s interesting as hell. There is almost nothing about this band that Most of the people here don’t know. But ( and it kills me to admit this)i can’t tell if That is Keith or Mick imitating him. And I can’t tell if it’s Charlie or Steve imitating him. The closing the high hat says Charlie but MR Watts wacked the fck out of those drums and this is a bit soft. Love th

Of course he’s wrong gaslight, but the whole point is he’s inviting you into a conversation. Why do you think I was complimenting him because I’m so sweet and nice to everyone? Btw stop trying to fight with me all the time. It’s not happening, you let something slip about yourself that hit home with me and if you think I’m ever gonna add to that level of pain you’re talking to the wrong dude.

QuoteLorenzAgain Look, Steve basically had to force Keith to record his last solo album and to take the time and write actual songs. Keith was ready for retirement. Still, lots of songs remained somewhat more fragments or ideas than actually complete work. Mick is still writing and he’s been the driving force for a while, Keith just has his usual nostalgic comments on the process. I totally appro

I think this is gonna be a Mick project for better or worse. Jagger has a very valid approach to the band. Keeping them current is and always has been very important, the band was on the verge of extinction when Mick put Some Girls together. And make no mistake, that record was 97% Mick Jagger.punk, disco, some hybrid rap( shattered) who did that? Bill. Charlie, Ronnie,Keith? Get real. I think

QuoteMr. Jimi I wrote this in a Led Zeppelin forum a couple of years ago and some people freaked out. Led Zeppelin wins head to head (year to year), however . . . Let's first compare each year of their shared existence, not count 1968, and we will return to the "however". I know its silly and rather impossible to say anything is better than anything else when it comes to

QuoteBjorn Half the beauty of Thief in the night is enough? This album will be a killer, then - because random outtake on youtube is twice as good as Thief in the night. I’m a huge Keith fan, have been for decades.you look at the songs he did on the Stones albums. You got the silver, happy, coming down again, before they make me run. Just top notch stuff, but for the life of me I can’t unde

Brian was never fired or “sacked” as you say from The Rolling Stones. There was no one there who had the authority to do any firing. A lot of that is the drunk tough guy 80s Keith saying “ so we all went down and told him “ hey ya c-ck you’re fired” on the 25x5 video. Like most of what Keith said for about 20 years it was nonsense. Find the 1971 Keith interview he did at Nellcote for Rolling

QuoteTopi QuoteHairball Or...maybe they really did decide to do a Beatles cover ala I Wanna Be Your Man with Paul on bass...or Come Together which they performed at Desert Trip... Beatles covers on a Stones album? Surely you jest. The Beatleheads are still living off of a over from 60 years ago.”look how great we are the Stones did a cover” I’ve seen McCartney bring it up a few times.

I think Charlie’s passing has alot to do with us, well many of us anyway. It’s a huge loss that we will never get to watch him play drums again, I liked watching Charlie play a great deal. We will never see that moment when Mick introduced him and the place erupted. To see thousands of people smiling and cheering, in a world where people do not seem to agree on much anymore that was a unanim

He’s said a lot of the women in the songs are combinations. I think that’s true to an extent but I think it’s also a bit of covering up who he’s actually singing about. I wish I could give the writer credit who after interviewing him many times observed “ with all his insincerity Jagger is hiding just how sincere he is “ It’s understandable, there’s a lot of emotion in those songs which is why

1975- the first time I saw them and Ronnie’s first tour.it was just mind blowing. In this day and age it’s hard to understand, you just didn’t see people who looked like that back then. Decades later we’ve seen those images recreated a million times, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses and thousands of versions of rock and roll bands that were influenced by The Rolling Stones. But to see Keith in th

This isn’t some abstract theory for me, I saw Plant,Daltrey,Rod Stewart, Freddie Mercury,Jagger and many others from about 20 feet away several times during the 1970s. None of them were close to Mick Jagger. It was clear then and it’s clear now, The GOAT.

QuoteMononoM omg... there are one or two songs we need to skip when we play the upcoming record... "It will feature Paul McCartney on one, maybe two tracks." If they try to put too many songs on it they’ll blow it again,we’ll be lucky if they have 5 or 6 strong tracks. 3 of the big 4 only have 10 songs and each one has a cover.Exile has 18 songs with 2 covers. To think they could have 15 or more worthwhile songs right now is a dream.it’s 2023 not 1971.

I’m a fan of LIVE music, acts that can bring people out to a venue for a night of music. It’s why the Stones, in my opinion will always be better than the Beatles. Ask a Beatle-head and they go into some nonsense, endless nonsense about playing clubs in Germany. I’m talking big time tours done in big league stadiums and what this young lady did was straight out phenomenal. If you look at a

As much as I love JB and JMc when I hear that version of Manic Depression it just reminds me, Hendrix was the GOAT. I think both of them would agree. Find a clip of Jimi playing that riff and you’ll understand, or not.

Quoteliddas Quotelem motlow Ditching Ronnie after 10 years was a huge mistake. They’d developed a rapport that was unmatched between two guitar players and it was never the same. I’m still not so sure what people see in the Winos, weak rhythm section, cliche guitar riffs, weak songs. Keith has that ability to make a lot of fans think they’re getting “ the real deal” a lot of people who didn

QuoteMathijs Quotedcba And psychologically I find it interesting that he was such a sub : he obeyed a tyranical manager, he toured when he did not want to, his records were released with a cover he did not choose. I could not see Mick and Keef being led like that. Hendrix was 24 when he turned huge, one of the biggest attractions the world has ever seen besides the Beatles. When the Stones

Jimi was not only the greatest guitar player who ever lived he may very well have been the greatest musician who ever lived.period. In modern times it’s popular to say Eddie Van Halen,Jimmy Page or maybe Jeff Beck is the Goat.it’s laughable. Taking an act that has been in the business so long that the type of music they play has gone out of style and comparing them to a modern day cultural phenomenon is a bit silly. Taylor Swift reminds me of when I suddenly noticed a 25-0 Mike Tyson.before you know it everything has changed. She’s finishing up her tour with 6 (six) nights at SoFi in LA.let that sink in- If you’re not in the Sta

I often wonder when keith was contemplating the group sound, rythmn and lead guitar attack, Did he ever think of perhaps bringing in Mick Tayolr instead of waddy. Wonder if it crossed his mind or perhaps the lineup organically developed. Anyone have any insight into his vision of the band's sound? His m

First off tiffanyblu, you are adorable. The thing you need to realize is with the exception of AC/DC none of those bands you mentioned still exist. When any artist is gone their legacy is picked over, lionized, mythologized, and basically made out to be more than they were. Queen for instance were a great band. I saw them about six times between 76 and 80 and I think the worst seats I had were
