Couldn’t we have just named this thread “Pandora’s Box “ and be done with it? IORR is now just people arguing about the same bullshit as in every other corner of the internet. Wear a mask, wash your hands and vote, that’s all you can do. You mthrfckrs on each side of the political spectrum are never, ever gonna change each other’s minds. Ever . If you’re really that upset, so upset that y

When you understand the importance of Bills playing meshed with Charlie and Keith that’s when you truly become a Rolling Stones fan, now you’re one of us. I can’t put it in more plain terms than that. It’s not a knock on anyone who enjoys the band and their songs in a casual way but when it hits you - Those 3 guys playing together with monster talents like Brian Jones,Mick Taylor, Ronnie Woo

QuoteJMARKO QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteTornAndFried I always wondered why they didn't play this song live until I heard it on the Licks Tour. Like other classics like 'Rocks Off', 'Sway', 'Torn And Frayed' and 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking' these songs just sound much better on their original album versions. I wish Ronnie was a much better lead guita

I’m fckng flabbergasted how good those songs from Bigger Bang and Voodoo are when they play them live. I simply cannot understand why on earth these guys who have been in the damn music business for half a century can’t see that their music is not being recorded properly. I watch these videos of The Voodoo tour, Bridges and Bigger Bang and they’re tearing the roof off the place with songs from

He was always like that, just so cool and above it all. He said how things were without coming off as someone with an axe to grind. It was a tough pill to swallow seeing him lowering himself to playing music critic about some heavy metal act or current pop star, making up silly stories and carrying on endlessly about Mick. I hope now that he’s off the booze we’ll see this guy again, I really

Great stuff, I was trying to remember something from that Crawdaddy article not two days ago in the “100 year’s ago”thread and damn if you didn’t post the thing. What are the odds of that? A 45 year old magazine article.amazing.

Amazingly, out of the blue , Exilestones posted the exact story I was referring to.its in the thread titled “magazine articles” The Crawdaddy magazine from 75 Barbara Charone piece where she’s with them during the recording of Black and Blue. I was mistaken though, Keith’s indiscretion was with Andrew Loog Oldhams wife. He’s talking about Jimmy Miller burning out and leaving when he throws

Oh for fcks sake, are you people children? It’s a calculation made by celebrities on a daily basis. Their management team figures out that each dollar given to charity X is worth 10 dollars in positive publicity. The money is given out and the publicist makes sure the media know about every dollar. Then the average dupe out there gets all warm and fuzzy about the aforementioned star. This

The only way I would give a “ shout out “ to that Poser is if he gave away every single dollar of his ill gotten gains from the blight his pop rock crap created on the rock and roll landscape and then committed hari kiri Shortly there afterwards.

I got sick and couldn’t go to Chicago so I went to the first Detroit show on the 27th.i remember Keith was wearing black leathers with a jersey style black shirt that had a really cool silver pattern on the front that reflected when the spotlights hit it. Here he’s wearing his tan leathers that he tucked into his boots,I think he was wearing those in Milwaukee. Those places are all pretty close

As a person who grew up in the 70s it’s hilarious to see how this stuff makes people uncomfortable even today. Back then nobody gave a shit what you were into, there were slogans like “ if it feels good do it”. As Madonna so astutely said” AIDS and the 80s turned everyone into these 50s monsters” Mick was having an affair with Billy in the mid-70s. There’s nothing funnier than “ it looks kin

Hate to say it but they may no longer exist. That film disintegrates over time, Page said they had to painstakingly redo the footage they had of Zep and some of it was a lost cause. I really want to think the Stones have everything restored from their entire career and a bunch of finished songs that will come out over time, if not and this stuff is gone forever that’s just sad beyond words

I’m on a Stones binge - The videos are all coming out of storage.4 flicks, biggest bang, stones in exile etc.. I don’t listen to the officially released records but I pulled steel wheels out. I have one of those old limited edition metal cases and almost had to blow the dust off it. There was a thread about it alwhile back and I figured why not, I hadn’t heard it in literally 20 years. I

We’ve all bought truck loads of albums from the man with the Union Jack pillow on his sofa. There are only about 2, maybe 3 other rock and roll acts who have existed on the level of The Rolling Stones. I’m

Quoteretired_dog My problem with the bonus disc is not whether Matt or Nicky played on a tune or if Matt enhanced Nicky's playing with overdubs or whether Mick's blues harp does not sound like 1972 - these are minor details for me because other issues are far more apparent in my book: 1. The choice of material in general - see Rocky's list as an example of a far more satisfying

I’ve never really thought about it but where do they put all that money? Not just for the Stones but the millions of dollars in ticket sales that are paid in advance for shows months from the onsale date. With this economy let’s hope they put it somewhere safe.

I know they won’t do it but I wish the Stones would sort of disconnect the studio band from the live band. It already is but I’m not sure they know it. The studio Stones haven’t gotten anything off the launching pad since 05 and the live act has been killing it around the world nearly every year. I’m not saying go full Brian Wilson but a lot of the people who made those great records are stil

That's the only reason I can think of...they don't want to lose money. That’s probably true, it’s really sad how the Stones treat their legacy really. If there was anything good about Zep ending so early it gave Page
