I understand the dislike. The lyrics are meaningless, ust a bunch of cliches strung together, and if you challenged him on that he'd just say that the song is a joke (in the past he's said Satanic and ER were jokes). His inability to stand behind is work is annoying. Maybe you can't blame him. The Undercover album was a serious lyrical effort; and when nobody took it seriously, he

Interviewer: How does that even happen though? Under what circumstances does Mick Jagger talk to anti-vaxxers? Ugh. This is what's wrong with media and people in general. Like the reporter can't imagine that Mick would speak to somebody who doesn't want to get a vaccine. Mick's an intelligent, social person. I'm sure he talks to people with all kinds of beliefs.

Quotecrawdaddy I personally think that Keith and The Duke have got a lot in common and would have got on quite well if they had ever met. Agreed. Keith has a part of him that is quite the British stiff-upper lip, stoic person, as was the Duke. And who knows, maybe Keith's mum talked up the Duke back in the day.

South America in the '70s would have been a chaotic, dangerous place to tour, especially for the minders who had to watch Keith.

Their legacy is set. Great in the '60s and '70s and a great touring act since then. When they are gone their legacy will probably improve as kids growing up now focus on their music and not the legend. And they have helped their legacy by not doing a Broadway show or a bio-pic. B&L is the only rock star cliche thing they have done and most people liked that.

I give Mick all the credit in the world for this one. He picked it out and ran with it. He had help from people around him, sure, but he picked the people around him. Very astute of him. Keith and Charlie must have been in the loop, too?

I don't have the impression they were excited about their new songs on the 1975 tour. Not like '69 or '72. Even on the SG tour they had something to prove and some great tracks.

Drugs. Exhaustion. Working in a new guitarist. Didn't have anything to prove, or great new songs to show off. Also the idea that people a year from then, let along 45 years later would even remember these shows would have been unfathomable. A rock and roll show was disposable. Rock it up, move on. Now we've got rock stars recording every show, which are scripted and rehearsed to make

There is so much stupid money out there they could put on a show for 100 people and charge each of them $1 million flat. And then come out and announce they were going to play Dirty Work in its entirety.

The Confederate flag is not ever meant to be a racist symbol. It is portrayed as that so people can express anger at past wrongs. At any rate, why would anybody give a @#$%& if somebody is waving a flag. I grew up in Catholic Northern Ireland and if you want to wave a Rangers flag or the Union Jack, why the hell would I care. Why do we want to fight old battles.

QuoteRollingFreak Quotewonderboy Allen began a 'relationship' with the adopted daughter of his partner when she was in high school. That's enough for me. Any teacher or parent knows that's a taboo, a betrayal. Even more so when you take her background into consideration. That was enough for me to conclude he's a @#$%& creep. I'm not in any way gonna condone it

QuoteRokyfan QuoteJadedFaded Don’t know what to make of Florida: Nobody does. Despite a years's worth of predictions of doom because of their supposed mishandling, the situation is no worse there than any other state, better than many. And the kids are in school. And as the Times pointed out, Florida, with its huge elderly population, handled the nursing home situation much mu

I haven't watched a Woody Allen movie in 30 years, when his actions with Soon-Yi became public. She was a high schooler and the adopted daughter of his partner. He was in his 50s. Spells creep to me. His movies are equally creepy once you know what he's about. ... Jagger never did anything remotely as @#$%&-up as that. What Bill did was wrong, but I'd call it pathetic more

They still had plenty of song ideas (more than I thought before these tracks leaked) and demos, but Mick and Keith weren't working together well enough to put together good records, unless it was a paint by numbers song like She Was Hot, or if Mick took over the record like on Undercover of the Night and Too Much Blood. Although I do love All the Way Down (I was being Mr. Cool, just a snott

I vote for the theory that Stones Inc. released the material to extend copyrights and create buzz for some future product. While the Stones core audience is aging, the estate might be counting on a future revival market.

I want to push back on the idea that Keith came in with ideas and Mick completed the songs. A few things: -- I watched the SFTD film recently, and it shows Mick coming in with lyrics and a few chord changes, and Keith actively moving around the studio, taking over the bass, directing Charlie, leading the backup singers. -- Most of his best solo you can hear painstakingly crafted backup vocals a

I like the 'What and How ....' song, but it has a demo-type feel. He should have given it to Mick and Keith. The Stones could dirty it up, improve the soul backup singers, add a sax solo and have a hit. Maybe Bill could come in, give then a dozen songs, schedule studio time, produce and get the new album in the stores in time for the summer tour.

QuoteMeise There's another interesting read in the book. Some sound engineer tells that there haven't been any confrontations between Brian and the rest of the band due to his lacking interest in recording or playing guitar at all. He says that Brian wanted to add some exotic drums to a certain song 'cause he felt Charlie was out of tempo. He was sat in a recording corner playi

Dave Mason posted this on Facebook: The original Rolling Stones band was so incredible due in great part to Brian Jones. It was initially his band, after all. He was a visionary and creative. I hung out with him from time to time and one of our favorite things to do was go to eat Indian food. One of the last times I saw him was during the Beggars Banquet sessions; we were sitting in a circle

It *was* a party tour. It was pretty much the golden age of party tours. You got wasted and saw the Stones, or Journey or AC/DC or whoever. The trouble was -- and Mick saw this -- was that Springsteen and the Police and Tom Petty and Dire Straits were up and coming and were tighter and more organized. That was the future. Tickets were getting more expensive, the audience was getting older and t
