When you hold a vinyl record in your hands you make an emotional connection with the band and the music. Opening A vinyl record is like opening a present. There is something graceful in removing the record, settling on a turntable and putting the needle down. I cannot make that same kind of association with a download or with streaming. Music I've downloaded without holding the 'gift

But I did it, because he lied and Because he took you for a ride And because time was on his side and Because I...... I always thought that Dylan had to be singing about Brian. Lol...After all these years you can still discover something in a Dylan song.

I can't complain about anything on this album. We're actually quite lucky we even have one from the band and I'm going to love every second of it. It's all going to end soon and I don't take from granted that there is going to be a next one. As far as I'm concerned...it's great. I'm past the stage of being a critic of the band's efforts. It serves no p

A few simple Mick Taylor fills would have elevated most of the songs...but they probably just don't want to talk about him any more...too bad...

All were just concert clips...and some rehearsal clips...but Satisfaction in Havana was complete. The ironic thing that stuck out for me was that most of the soundtrack music used during the city 'walkabouts' before each show was from the Mick Taylor years, especially Exile...Ventilator Blues in particular, captured the South American atmosphere perfectly.... Oh...the acoustic versio

Really enjoyed the premiere of the Stones''rockumentary' last night! Got a couple of last minute tickets on kijiji late in the afternoon and off to the screening. I ended up getting within 'spittin' distance of both Keith and Ronnie on the red at the carpet and in the concert hall. Very cool to see them that close. As for the film. I didn't expect much and ended u

QuoteNaturalust Starting in 1966 (or so) and ending in 1972 (or so) has always seemed like the most amazingly creative, fertile and greatest period for pop and rock music to me, even though I discovered the music years later. I have often wondered the reason and tend to believe it was related to both the proliferation of drugs like weed and LSD in the music industry and the huge social chang

'Filler' to me are songs that most people skip over when playing either a record or CD which also puts them into the 'not as good as the others' category. I;ve always skipped over "Lies" on Some Girls for example....maybe the only filler song on that great album. Over forty years I still play only 3 albums from start to finish without any thought of skipping a song..
