Too bad they couldn't build an arena for their former NHL hockey team the Coyotes they just lost to Utah. At least not yet.

QuoteDaveG The Rolling Stones Hollywood Bowl, July 25, 1966 And a month later . . . The Beatles, Dodger Stadium. August 28, 1966 Thinking back, what an incredible way to begin my fantastic concert journey! You should write a book. Those two shows alone would be chapter one. Did you keep any stubs? So when did Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Lee Michaels first make your concert oeuvre?

Quotesteffialicia I am also hoping and praying MR is included asap. It's such a highlight for me and many, many, many others! I think your best shot might be at the NYC area and Boston shows. There will be a more masculine hard core fanbase there and it will fit in nicely with that genre.

I was in San Diego for the 81 tour and it was promoted as the first nighttime show of the tour. The local radio made a big deal out of it. We were thrilled. George Thorogood and J. Geils did their sets in daylight. It was a great show.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteThe Sicilian QuoteTate Drummer here. Steve Jordan is a great drummer and plays Charlie's parts very true to Charlie's style, and when not, more true to the original sound, such as during It's Only Rock and Roll. I don't think you can judge the sound of Steve's snare based on the YouTube recordings that are shared online. Steve's signature

Years ago there was a stand at Jazz Fest that made the best strawberry shortcakes with a cup and a shortbread type cookie in the bottom and packed with berries and whipped cream. Outstanding.

QuoteGasLightStreet Was gonna post this on the New Orleans Jazz Fest thread but it's closed, and since they're playing this, instead of starting a thread just to say this, and for a lot of people the sweet sound of gumbo is heaven: BV you HAVE to get the CRAWFISH BREAD! At Jazz Fest! And go to Prejean's booth and get the pheasant, quail and Andouille sausage gumbo! He op

They should have auditioned other drummers, heck with a basic kit you could of used Ringo Starr. Kenny Jones would have been a great drummer for the Stones but he's too fast and the band can't hang with him.

BV, you don't have to be a drinker to enjoy some great food. The Jazz fest always has some good food stands. At night you can find all the great oyster joints, po'boys and beignets for breakfast at Cafe du Monde next to the French Market. I believe GasLightStreet is an expert on the city.

For the last few tours "Honky Tonk Woman" was the start of the their encore. That song usually showed up around 9 to 11 in the setlist. The ubiquitous clinking of the cowbell by Charlie signified that for the hard core fan of the Stones, the show was over.

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteGasLightStreet Quotedaspyknows Weather reports look decent for Thursday to Sunday. Today and tomorrow not so much. Flying in tomorrow and doing Daze Between on Wednesday. Karl playing. Tuesday - Thursday no rain, mid 80s - excellent weather. 20%, 40%, 20%, 0% rain Thursday - Sunday. 20% will probably be none for Thursday and Saturday. Won't be in the 90s

Hearing it live in Houston I'm trying to filter where I hear it in other Stones songs. These songs immediately come to mind: Coming Down Again YCAGWYW Let It Loose (according to JMARKO) Melody (according to Green Lady) Now I'm also thinking about "No Use in Crying" from Tattoo You. Any thoughts from your music mind?

The biggest problem at Jazz Fest is weather. You can get hit with inches of rain in a short period of time then get smothered with very high humidity. Or it can be beautiful and hot. I'd love to hear the Stones play a tribute song to the Allman Brothers.

To omit a masterpiece such as MR, made me need to speak out. I hope that somehow, word gets to them and that this omission is reconsidered.
