Question regarding FOS tickets

I may be able to go to Brussels, and am wondering about FOS tickets for the Stones shows. Two questions:
1. For Brussels, what do you think is the latest that you can line up on the day of the show and still get a decent place? By decent, I mean a spot within a few bodies of the catwalk or the B-Stage, not necessarily right in front.
2. Once you are there, does one person need to stay there for the duration to hold your spot, or can you put down a mat or something?
3. If you arrive late, but have FOS ticket, is there enough space so that you can hang out towards the back of the section and still have a full view of the stage?
