This may not be the appropriate posting spot for this, but.... Break out your old Stones and crank up "Not Fade Away", "Mona", "Who Do You Love" and whatever else comes to mind with that Diddley beat and dance to Bo's memory and everlasting contribution to rock'n'roll. RIP, Mister Diddley.

It's definately appropriate. The Stones admittedly owe a great deal of debt to the Man. He was a huge influence in the early days of the band. Truly one of the few pioneers of rock'n'roll.

Last night Bo Diddley died of heart failure yesterday morning at his home in Archer, Florida.

Sir Mick Jagger, whose band covered Diddley's songs as Mona and Crackin' Up, paid tribute to the Mississippi-born musician as an 'enormous force in music'.

Sir Mick said: 'He was a wonderful, original musician who was an enormous force in music and was a big influence on the Rolling Stones.

..............dum diddley dum dum diddley dum dum.............

'He was very generous to us in our early years and we learned a lot from him. We will never see his like again.'

RIP

Hey! Bo Diddley - Roger Daltrey (BBC Radio Documentary)

He was born Otha Ellas Bates McDaniel, almost as memorable a name as the one he adopted. Diddley's stuttering beat became the backbone of many a great rock number but the man himself always felt undervalued, even though his R&B magic influenced, well, everyone. Roger Daltrey tells of Bo’s upbringing and explores his impact on the British pop artists of the 1960s. He also examines the West African feel in some of his songs and tries to pin down the origin of his adopted name. This is the story of a remarkable life, from Diddley’s humble beginnings to rock ’n’ roll superstardom.

I saw him and Ronnie twice during the Gunslinger tour. Incredible! Are there any outtakes from Live At the Ritz that someone can post?
