Tell Me

Long time ago I heard Stones´ debut album (with different cover) with different version of Tell Me.... that version was longer than album version (about 10-20 sec. longer)... is there any possibility to get this version.....can somebody post it here? I think it´s more rare stuff than an "official release".... thank you very much for any information or posting

"tell me" on their debut album is longer than the one usually circulating on greatest-hits collection: a longer guitar solo that was omitted from the more familiar shorter edit. so different versions available, but all official stuff.

No....I´m talking about version which isn´t on my debut album..... I know 3 versions of Tell Me..... "1st version - demo" (available on some bootlegs), album version (The Rolling Stones 1964) and "single edit" (Singles Collection 3CD for example)...... "my" version is longer than album version....as I remember guitar solo was the same like album but the ending was different.... When album version faded out, this version was still playing (as I said, about 10-20 sec. longer).....

I'm not sure where this take oringinated but you can find it on "We Want The Rare Stones" (Glimmer Twins Records 012). It has an xtra chorus and no fadeout-it just abruptly ends at 4min 6 sec.

I know 3 versions only:

2,52 on the first UK LP matrix 1A/1A
3,48 on the first UK LP second printing
2,46 on the US single

never heard a version longer than 3,48. If you find it can you please inform me?

There was a version released with a book in the early 90's possibly late 80's, couldn't afford the book at the time ,but got a 7'' vinyl boot of it in a cd fair in Amsterdam at that time.
Haven't played it for a while so not sure if it's the one you mean, I think the book was German.
Anybody able to shed any light on it

Just in the interests of research I thought I would dig out the versions I have on CD, Vinyl will have to be at a later date after I have found them all.

Rolling Stones 820 047-2 German sleeve says 4.05 only plays for3.44

Singles 1963- 1965 2.36

More Hot Rocks (sacd) 3.45

London Years japanese issue 3.45

Rolling Stones + 8 bonus Russian copy of 1st album 4.05

same cd unreleased version 2.45

I have another version of the London Years somewhere but can't find the relavant cd from the box at the moment

Having a great time listening to all the old stuff
