Hey dmay, thanks for your support! Never mind, I'm only amused at the variety and types of responses, not upset. On the serious side, I decided to make the post because, as I first mentioned, there definitely have been various off-topic posts (your Tiny Tim mention adds further to scope the list, thanks). I wouldn't have dreamed of making the post if I thought the site was absolutely Stones-only. The way that posts on various other artists have regularly appeared gave a clear enough indication that many are happy to help out with other artist questions. I mean, look at that monumental 20-disc Woodstock thing recently posted. It's nothing I'd try to tackle, but I looked at it in awe and never gave it a thought as being an intrusion or unwelcome. And, as most of know, the Stones were asked but didn't go to Woodstock, so the post is about 100% irrelevant, but still a marvel. For my part, I think it's good to see the variety of other stuff on this great site. After all, some of us like a few other artists as well as the Stones.
Anyway, yeah, I've considered a search for torrents as you mentioned, but I have a list of almost all promo-only tracks and mixes that I'm searching for, many of which would need to be lifted from vinyl. It needs a real specialist to surface. It's just a really rough mention on this site, with .... "No Expecations" .... 'xcuse the pun.
