interesting post straycat but I think you confuse the Vienna 65 footage with 1967. as far as I can say Austrian TV was not present at the show in 65.

but ok - haven't seen "die ersten 20 Jahre" for while...

btw - can you provide a link to the Muenster 65-footage on youtube? can't find it.

wjats quite intersting with this clip is that the sequence with the Hyde Park 1969 footage from german Wochenschau is dubbed with a live version of Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (not played at all at Hyde Park by the way!!!) which sounds exactly like Satisfaction and Around And Around from Münster earlier in the video. this is indication that german Wochenschau vaults may indeed possess THE COMPLETE MÜNSTER 1965 show!!! as Hyde Park was 4 years later, dubbing Everybody Needs Somebody sound from Münster 1965 is clear indication that at least in 1969 when the dub was done Münster 1965 show still existed. and it is highly likely that it stills exists today as Wochenschau vaults never erase archive footage!!!

Hey Alimente, I never noticed....I thought it was a Paris 64-66 broadcast or something like that - that sure is interesting, if it really is Munster..! thanks. But how to get it out from the vaults? Somebody here who's working in German television ? There's one at BBC on this board.....but Germany ?

thing is that UFA who produced the weekly Wochenschau for german cinemas also filmed complete Beatles Munich 1966 Cirkus Krone show (shown on german TV a couple of times), so its not that unrealistic that they also have filmed complete Stones 1965 Münster show as already mentioned by Straycat58 "a pro-shot film is reported to exist".

if one thinks about the media communication of the times and the fact that the Hyde Park report appeared pretty soon after the event, I doubt that Wochenschau producers phoned around in Europe and to french radio in particular to find vintage Stones recordings like Paris 1965 to dub their Hyde Park footage - it would have taken much too much time to locate footage and receive it. Im sure they just checked their own vaults to find suitable footage and they came up with Everybody Needs Somebody To Love from Münster 1965 and believed it would fit to be dubbed on their obviously silent Hyde Park material. for us now live 1965 and live 1969 seems ages apart, but its just four years and in 1969 sound recordings from 1965 were just "recent" Stones recordings so UFA-Wochenschau obvioulsy thought its not a big deal to use it for their Hyde Park dub. this was before the age of internet and immediate setlist availabilty so even german Stones fans who saw this clip in cinemas shortly (1 or two weeks) after the event most likely did not know exact Hyde Park setlist and the fact that ENSTL was not played at Hyde Park at alL!!!

not exactly german TV, as Wochenschau was produced by UFA, THE german film-movie production company. Wochenschau was shown in cinemas, but not on TV, although UFA also comissioned a lot of footage to TV also. so one has to find someone who works for UFA!

UFA it is then! Thanks for knowing this stuff Alimente,
maybe the best thing one can do is to start a thread at TellMe, at least that's where the BBC guy came forward - with his researches of the vaults...which wasn't very uplifting...
It's not an impossible task; to get a copy of footage like this - once one find an insider. Since they used such clips for the amazon-interviews, one would think UFA allready have this stuff copied over to computer/DVD.
