No-Noise is great, (apart from the earliest software versions) but must not be overused. No-Noise is nowadays used on nearly all vintage recordings but they just don't claim it on the cover. 'Welcome' by TSP sounds not perfect (early no-noise version) but is far from being butchered. No-noise laid bare the pure music as it sound without the hiss. ears mistake hiss as high frequencies so when ALL hiss is gone, a not so perfect recording can sound a bit dull. vinyl records sound better anyways. it was not until early to mid-nineties that CD began tp sound decent. before that I could not stand this digital soulless sound. and 128 mp3 is a pain in the ass, should at least be 192.
