No. It was a radio broadcast as they weren't allowed to release Decca songs recorded live before 1976
Not that it matters to this thread...

not trying to start an argument here, but in 74, they owed decca one more album(which eventually became made in the shade) but Brussels/a 72 complation was meant for an offical realese

yes I see what you mean, it was considered, I think we just differ in what it takes to be called "an album never released", as they found a different way of spreading the 73 material pretty quick

Just out of curiosity (& I realise the moderators here have a job to do- or we would have NO 'IOR&R' at all):
We've all been happily uploading/downloading the Rio gig & the Saitama gig- as they were radio/tv broadcasts. So- now they're on this official release (though no-one can get it)- these will be classed as 'official' right (?).

Close. But as I recall, there was to be a double album from the '72 tour that included one album of music from the supporting acts (Stevie Woder; etc) and a second album of Stones material from the'72 tour. Even the album art was ready to go (I've seen it somewhere, anybody got a link?). The album was cancelled due to a whole slew of legal issues regarding ABKCO, RS Records, The other artists record companies; etc.

Brussels/Manchester etc. from "73 was recorded strictly for the King Biscuit Flower Hour and aired in 2 parts in 1974. (And, of course, BRILLIANT)

Made In The Shade was released on Rolling Stones Records, not DECCA. You may be thinking of Metamorphosis, which was released by Allen Klein on DECCA.

My memory may be fuzzy on this, I'm sure there are others here with better detail!

Thanks!

Ross

Yes, Ross the Philly 72 album was a so-called "unreleased official album"
And just like GYYYO they wanted to include the warm-up-acts;
however Brussels 1973 was a broadcast, I've read that they considered for a live album, but they had to dump the idea early on. Still it was a important broadcast - Jagger even mixed on of the London/Brussels version himself, and if memory serves, it was the broadcast where Taylor was up front - and Bobby Keys turned way down.
