well.. here in Argentina original boots are really hard to find..and VERY expensives too. im collecting Stones boots since 1989, have only 30 originals-about 500cdr-. and im a big fan.

Wow.....some eye opening discussions here......

As far as the personal arguments go on this thread, I'm staying out of it. I'm very surprized at some of the things said and attitudes expressed but I'll keep my opinions to myself. But as far as the debate about flac and mp3 goes.........I usually can't tell a difference between high bitrate mp3's and flac files...BUT, I would much rather have flac files for trading purposes. If kream posts a show in mp3 quality that I want to hear, I will not pass it up simply because its' in mp3 format. But I won't trade a copy of that show. Awhile back, the Seattle 7/18/75 show that I'd been looking for was posted in mp3 format. I skipped on downloading it though because a friend here on this board offered to send me a copy of the show from a lossless format (I won't name him because I don't want others bothering him with requests). So now I have a copy of the Seattle '75 show that I can listen to and can trade for other shows if I wish. That is the reason I prefer flac files.

The bottom line though......if you're going to trade mp3 sourced shows, please inform prospective traders so they can take them or leave them.

I don't think the debate is really about cdr or originals. It's about lossless formats vs. lossy formats.

I meant that it sounds great that you just dig listening to Stones, and dislike debates.
Sorry, I got too much CD-burning to do this days, I don't have the time for more trading right now.

That's fine if you don't care whether your music is lossy or not, but most "traders" do. When you say you want to "trade", you're speaking of a community that, in general and to varying degrees, looks down upon lossy formats. So if you're going to trade, whether you care about whether or not your music is lossy, the people you're trading with most likely will care.

this is not debate about files. this is debate about people which trying to be experts knowing anything about files but almost nothing about music.

I guess you are right DirtyWorks in your enviromment, but the world it`s not only europe or usa, as an example millions of RS fans living in patagonia, turkey, china, africa, etc who never in their lifes saw an ¨original¨ release, and trading for this peoples with many countries is almost out of consideration because of money..and this forums I guess are open to all of them.. so may be are not collectors of plastic but RS music listeners..

what you just described is not a debate at all. I've defended you several times and have speed corrected a couple of shows for you. You don't need to be getting all pissy with me just because I would rather have music in a lossless format.

you're right. really this is not a debate. sorry Mr. TD07 but you don't understand that problem

yes you've corrected couple (exactly 2) shows but not for me only for all users. i'm not collecting RS's shows. without any sorrow and with my great pleasure i will change 10 RS's boots for 1 unknow for me Led Zeppelin's boot.

i only like the rolling stones but, how i wrote earlier, i'm not their huge fan.

thanks for defending me but i never needed it smiling smiley

Apparently not. I can't tell what the hell you're talking about half the time.

If I'm not mistaken, YOU are the one that asked me to do the speed correction.

again I really don't know what you're talking about or what that has to do with this..

Ok good then. I won't waste my time again.

Tumblin_Dice, I guess this mean that you'll won't be getting any forum-unfriendly "links just for friends" from that moron.
Or all those stupid smileys.

it's exactly mean that you are the rube /boor, gull, bumpkin - choose what you want/ without any sense of humour. everybody could know it after your 2nd comment for monkyman's post. i don't want to write it earlier. i tried to be kind

i don't want to to lose my time because of rube like you

You seem to be good at judging other people, kream,
and you have done so on page 1 and on a lot of threads the last 8 months.

<<without any sense of humour>>

Oh I got plenty of humour, but surely you can't expect me to be to be happy about what you write to me?
WHere's can I find the humour in your attacks?

I think it'll be a good idea to not interfere in eachothers postings for a while, it must be boring for the others to read threads like this.
Sorry everybody....I'm outta here.

Edit: concerning the 2nd post (the 1st was a misprint) to monkeyman, I didn't mean that people has less fun of the music if it's MP3 sourced than Flac-sourced, but I was referring to the fact that after his trading-threads, there's often discussion about the origin of his recordings and what the difference between those 2 file-sorts is.
