REQUEST: Jumping Jack Flash SB mp3 from Toronto Palais 2002
Posted by: brent72 ()

Can someone please post this song as the copy I have gets distorted and scratchy about halfway through. It's the only song out of the 15 from this show that has bad sound for some reason. Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow, that was insanely fast. Thank you very much for helping me out so quickly.

The quality is even better than the copy of the show I have. Is there any chance you could post this whole show at some point? I'd love to upgrade my copy to better sound. smiling smiley

bassplayer,

Any chance you could post mp3s of the whole Toronto Palais 2002 show? Your file sounded a lot better than what I currently have and I'd love the upgrade as this is a great performance. Thanks!

Brent, I'm pretty sure that Urban Steel has already posted the whole gig. Lemme look around a bit.

Yeah, I tested the first link, and it still works. As a matter of fact, Urban Steel's mp3s are at higher bitrates (320) than what I presently have (192).

Merry Christmas, Brent. (wink)

OK, I just tried downloading a couple of songs from UrbanSteel's post and the sound quality is the same as what I already have. In other words, it's nowhere near the quality of that Jumping Jack Flash file you posted for me, bassplayer. Since it's probably too much trouble to post the whole show, could you just post "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", "I Can't Turn You Loose", "If You Can't Rock Me", "It's Only Rock and Roll" and "Brown Sugar" on Sendspace? I really appreciate the JJF file and if there's any way I could get these other songs it would be great. Thanks! smiling smiley

OK, Brent, I'll put these up for you. I got these in Nov 2006, but I don't recall the source. For 192kbps MP3s, I thought the quality was superb. However, I don't question sources, man. If it's good, then that's good enough for me.

Here's what I'm trying to do -- I'm a registered member of Sendspace, so I zipped up the entire show. These are WMA files at 192kbps. It's gonna take me an hour and a half to upload it. It's gonna be about 100 MB. Hope this works (crossing fingers).

Darryl Jones' solo on Stray Cat Blues is just a hint of what he would later unleash. This is basically a public rehearsal, but it's of tremendous historical importance. The 21st century Rolling Stones are unveiled here. Some of the songs that weren't played later are given tryouts. "Torn and Frayed" -- I wish they'd worked on that one a bit more. "Heart of Stone" -- a nod to when they were just babies LOL.

Kream,

I checked your version of the show and the JJF file bassplayer posted for me is actually even better quality. If his whole show sounds as good as that one song, it's probably the best version of Toronto Palais 2002 out there. I appreciate your help as well as bassplayer's efforts to make this show available. Thanks to both of you. smiling smiley
