I just discovered that the BootlegZone site is gone for good. There's a brief message saying that it's closed for good, and to not bother emailing, 'cause thier email addresses are either closed, too, or never checked. It was a great resource for boots, especially track listings and recording details. Oh well, maybe there's another similar site out there. I thought you would like to know about this.

Yeah, I wonder what the deal is, too. I was just there yesterday and I didn't see any notices that they were closing, or anything like that. To just suddenly go down like that, without any warning, is strange. And, I agree that they were one of if not THE best boot resource out there. If I find out any more about this, I'll let you know.

You can buy them or only get info from this site..mail this guy at allconcerts@hotmail.com

I just tried to access the site and it says it's not found. Does anyone know what happened? Maybe they will come back under another name? I think we all used the site as a resource for info & artwork. Are there any around like it?

I forgot to mention, here's links to ALL the trading websites I belong to (listed below). I'll admit that I...never uploaded my collection onto any of them since I just used bootlegzone because it was the best site around, however please check out my profile as I'll be updating my profile collection over the weekend. I've got hundreds of CD-R's and had 1 of the biggest demos, outtakes, and sessions material that was on bootlegzone. Drop me a line if your interested in trading. When I said I was preparing for the death of bootlegzone, it's just that the owner of the BZ site was never around, and wasn't involved. It led me to believe he more then likely finally got fed up paying a web-hosting bill for a site he never used, i just assumed (like all good things), he'd eventually take the site down.

Update on my profile at tapetrader: I've only put up 25 shows. It's going to take me longer then I first anticipated tp put up everything I've got. I'm going to be updating this entire weekend. I see alot of people on this board I recgonize from BZ.

Unfortunately, our worst fears have come true - bootlegzone is no more!

The reason why I am emailing you is that you probably can remember how
terrible and frustrating trading bootleg CDs was before BZ came about, and
I intend on keeping in touch with as many BZ members as possible. So until
someone comes up with a “new BZ”, I was hoping we could start compiling a
list of traders who still want to stay in contact with each other for
future trades.

You all have my email address now ([email protected]), but I have hidden yours from all the
others until I get your approval. Please email me with your name (including
your original BZ name), location, and email address if you would like to be
included on the list.

What I plan on doing compiling a list over the next few weeks, until we get
a large group of original BZ traders who want to trade through email.

By sending me your information above means you don’t mind other BZ traders
receiving your email address. However, you must start coming up with a
printable or visible list of discs you have. Or if you have a webpage that
would be great too!

Also (and this is very important) FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO ANY OTHER
BOOTLEGZONE TRADERS TO GET THEIR APPROVAL SO WE CAN AT LEAST KEEP IN

I was on Bootzone & did great trades!

I realy enjoyed the fact you could down load the

covers of the dvd's!

This made it easy for me to see what was on the disc & build the dvd to

specs & trade it as the cover stated!!

It also gave me quality covers for my collection & saved the time in trade on that disc!

Example--There was over 7 titles or covers just on "Let it Be" dvd's & or same songs!

I will miss the site!

The trades were fun & most quality --- fast & fun!

I hope I can have fun here as well & share some titles!!!

I've been trading for many years at db.etree.org but used bootlegzone as an excellent source of information and high res scans, mostly Beatles related boots. I'm not sure if there's another site that is as comprehensive as BZ was. Anyone?

As far as I have seen--
The other sites are no were close to what bootzone was!

Some have a few dvd's & lots of cdr's!
Some have cd's only!
Not 1 have any section for covers to show listings!

Sad--it was a great source for covers!

I just joned Tape Trader but it seems you can't find info when you click on a title. Are there any sites that show tracklists at least for titles?

I'm bummed about BZ's closing as well!!

Tapetrader.com is a really good site (as mentioned above!)...along with this great blog: [live-bootleg.blogspot.com]

Also, a lot of us on BZ traded bootlegs electronically using free GigaTribe software: [www.gigatribe.com] (you can exchange entire albums and folders of albums in a few easy clicks).
