I got myself a DVD burner. So all those Stones DVD's I've dld from RO bit torrent tracker, I can now burn and enjoy. But the DVD-RW discs I've burnt don't play in my DVD player, which does accept many formats and is brand new. Any ideas? Forward thanks.

could you be more specific, please?

to start at the beginning:
>>all those Stones DVD's I've dld from RO bit torrent tracker<<
what kind of file type(s) did you download?

here is a list of common file types you will encounter with BitTorrent, and how to handle them.

File types? Not sure. Also the volume on these Stones DVD's are so low.

Maybe you know the file types if you use Rocks Off Bit Torrent Tracker.Thankin you kindly.

>>File types? Not sure<<

you should see a 3 letter/number combination after all of your files on your PC: that is the file type or file extension. example: with resume.doc and somesong.mp3 the extensions are the doc and mp3
sometimes there are more than 3 letters. example: .html or .torrent

if you can't see this, change your settings so you can:
double click on my computer on your desktop, or open windows explorer,
under the tools menu, click on folder options,
find the view tab, and
uncheck the 'hide file extensions' box.
hit ok, then go find your file to see what it is .

to figure out how to access these files correctly, use
the above mentioned site or
this site

>>the volume on these Stones DVD's are so low<<
yes, they are. use the volume: this music should be payed loud! ;-)

jagger50, unless j.b.goode's advices help you out...
I can't play DVD-RWs or CDR-Ws either. I think it's better to stick to CDR and DVD-R.

Agree 100% with Erik's words.
A basic decision.

Thanks Vancouver.
Actually, I should have been more clear - the wmv files I am having problems with are video files, not music.
I have heard however that it is possible to convert "video images" and watch them via ITunes.
Do you know if this is true....?

uncle thud,

maybe Windows Media Components for QuickTime will be a help to play wmv on your mac.

try a search on google with wmv & itunes, you'll get a lot of hits for converting video and watching via itunes.

DVD-RW's are made for data, not video...RW stands for re-writeable...to convert .wmv and several other formats to mpeg2 so you can burn them onto a DVD use the utility WinAVI...you can get it at WinAVI.com...use it free for 14 days to see if you CAN use it!
