The RS Story
Posted by: Zagalo ()

As originally transmitted in early 1973, narrated by Alexis Korner, in 6 parts (each 60 mins approx)
Converted to 128kbps to keep the file size down but sounds fine - see what you think.

Part 1: The Early Years

The rest to follow...
Cheers.

Did you happen to record another show replayed on the BBC recently called "The Story Of The Stones"?

It is now in 8 parts of 30 minutes, but I think originally in 2002 it was 4 one hour parts.

If anyone could post this show it would be great.

thanks

Thanks for posting this. I vaguely remember listening to tbis way back when, Alexis Korner was a good person to have as a presenter having been there at the time and knowing the Stones and their story from a personal angle.

Wow - Part 1 is great - hard to imagine all the talent that knew each other in the early days as young ones..not thinking anything would comes of the music..Eric Claypton would play..looked at the floor..afraid to sing..and did not really know how to play guitar a that time...

Thanks Again!!!

I remember these shows vaguely. It didn't make much sense to me but now it's crystal clear. Miss AK I loved his radio programmes. Another sad loss of the Stones early jigsaw puzzle. Thanks for posting.
