The Who live at Jaguar Club St. Charles 10 August 1968
Here is the who live in 1968. Some nice stuff here, including a rare for this period "Daddy Rolling Stone". The concert is complete save for the first song. Here is a review of the show:
10 August 1968: Jaguar Club, St. Charles, IL (or MO)
Approximate Length: 66m
Sound Quality: A fair audience recording that seems to be missing the first song.
Song List: Can't Explain, Fortune Teller, Tattoo, Heaven and Hell, Young Man Blues, Daddy Rolling Stone, Summertime Blues, Magic Bus, Boris the Spider, A Quick One While He's Away, My Generation.
Details: A decent, almost complete recording—'Substitute' probably started the show and 'Can't Explain' seems to be the second number. 'Young Man Blues' is loose and long, but 'Magic Bus' is another story. Townshend mentions that live versions run "about five minutes", but they proceed to embark on a long trip that lasts 17 minutes and goes absolutely nowhere—thankfully they decided to include some changes of tempo as the onstage renditions progressed. 'Daddy Rolling Stone' was briefly resurrected on this tour, but this is apparently the only recording of it from this era. After the mini-opera (humorous Townshend introductions characterize this tour), the show closes with the 'My Generation' chaos after they're asked to finish up. [
