Question for Rumple21

Hi Rumple21,

A few months back you posted a great version of "Exile On Main Street Blues", the one without the excerpts of some "Exile" songs.

By then I asked you from which bootleg you took this version of, and you answered that you took it from this website of Ulf :

[user.bahnhof.se]

Unfortunately this isn't the version you posted. I asked Ulf about it, his answer was that he took it from the Mickboy remaster "Main Street Revisited', but unfortunately that's certenately not the one you posted.

So now my question is: Do you remember from which bootleg you really took this great version of "Exile On Main street Blues"?

Help will be much appriciated!

Thanx!

With kind regards, René

For you René:

@#$%& Blues 1 (fast version):
[www.sendspace.com] (low volume)
[www.sendspace.com] (higher volume)

@#$%& Blues 2 (slow version, good sound):

Exile On Main Street Blues:

The Exile On Main St Blues file says from it's from
It's Only Rock'n Roll Outtakes, but I don't think that's true.

Good info about bootlegs:

[cds.jrd.org.uk]

The file information says i downloaded it on the 22nd February 2005

The ID tag says 16/Exile On Main Street Blues(Master copy) - looking through Ulf's history files I think it's this one. As I remember it was the only mp3 among a list of wmas'

Week 08/05
CLAUDINE (ACCIDENTS WILL HAPPEN)
Claudine.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Indian girl.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Let me go.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Get yourself together.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
The way she held me tight.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Do you really think I care.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
We had it all.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Dear doctor(take 1).Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Emotional rescue.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Summer romance.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Fiji Jim.Claudine (Accidents Will Happen).wma
Exile On Main St Blues.mp3

I kept Ulf's info on the files. He mentions the Exile download at the end. Sorry that's the best I can do.

CLAUDINE(ACCIDENTS WILL HAPPEN)/2 CD/VGP-370/Outtakes from 66-79/E

Again VGP is presenting a vinyl classic in best CD quality. All tracks from this very nice release are taken from tape sources.
ADVICE:Use headphones and you should love it.For every collector this one is A MUST as the previous Claudine CD albums have been taken from vinyl as for example Accidents will happen(Claudine)/Sunbird-Dragoman(where a couple of the outtake songs differ)

The sound quality, the mix and performance is all thru excellent.

This means that maybe many files repeat itself but the reason is the better quality and then thanks toJean-Marie for the best Exile on Main Street Blues ever!

Tekumseh, thanx for the links! You've been a great help.

rumple21: Guess it will always be a mistery where this mp3 originally comes from, so I'll have to do it with the mp3. But that's fine with me, cause it's great. Maybe some day I will found out where it really comes from. Thanx for your research!

René

About Cooksucker Blues
Looks like the fast version on Itchy Fingers that I've got actually is from 1978, the Woodstock Rehearsals in 1978.

Here with much better sound, Woodstock Rehearsals 1978, cd 3, track 1:
@#$%& Blues (electric version):

It's not fast and slow, it's electric and acoustic version.
And it's recorded two times, the acoustic in late 60s/early 70s, and the electric in '78.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
