I've always been an Ace Frehley fan.

Jewel's version sounds similar to The Sunday's version.

Ace is the 'Stone' in Kiss.

Here's another cover, Judas Priest's version of Paint It Black:

But it's a too hard version, and sure don't fit in under 'great cover versions', but anyway it's here.

Hey Tekumseh,

This must be from the 90's when Halford wasn't with the band? Priest do awesome covers of Joan Baez's Diamonds and Rust as well as Fleetwood Mac's Green Manalishi.

It's from a single: Enter The Storm/Paint It Black/Himalaya from 1997

The version of WH by Jewel is actually pretty good. It reminded me that my daughter has been looking for cover versions of WH by women singers. Anyone have any other versions of WH sung by women singers? Other Stones covers by women singers outside of Sheryl Crow would also be appreciated. Thanks.

ran into Ace backstage at Giants stadium in 94. We looked scarier without the makeup.. Come on, KIss is useless. Glorified Monkees.

Here's WH by a woman, I don't know who it is and have not downloaded the previous one so I hope it's not the same - it's from the compilation Bossa N Stones.

I wouldn't say Kiss is useless, but they've seen better days.

The Wild Horses from Bossa N Stones was very different from Jewel's version, good version too.

Here's the classic Beast of Burden by Bette Midler:

And U2's great version of Paint It Black:

Thanks to all who've posted these. Just remembered that Gram Parsons did a version of Wild Horses with the Flying Burrito Brothers. Anyone have this?
