Mickboy?

I've been seeing this name pop up regarding a few bootlegs...what does he do exactly? From what I can gather, he seems to have made remasters better that the original cd releases. Some folks are in love with his work, others find it dubious, and perhaps even moot after the 2003 re-releases.

He was forced to stop (or have legal problems) selling the Stones material he remastered. Free sharing or trading is fine - he got in trouble since he was trying to make money off his remasters.

Speaking of Mickboy's Remasters:

I'm looking for Mickboy's Remaster of Exile On Main Street Revisited (Torn and Frayed productions) with the long and the short version of Exile On Main Street Blues.

Anyone?

I don't think Mickboy was trying to make money. Gave it away free I believe

But was he good? How do the remasters compare?

His remasters were better than the originals IMHO.

I can do CDR trades for these if anyone wants to go that route....I have the following Mickboy remasters: Let It Bleed, Exile on Main St, Goats Head Soup, and Black and Blue. I have CDR copies of these, unfortunately I do not own an original silver of these boots...

If anyone wants to see the setlist/artwork for these boots, click here: [www.rs-covers.com]

I trade CDR for CDR straight up or 2 CDR for 1 DVDR.

Mickboy's releases were only available as cdrs not silver pressed discs.

He used to charge about $10 per release just to cover his costs (artwork, printing, media, p&p etc).

I used to be in personal contact with him in the old days but he kind of disappeared when his private e-mail addy got bandied around in public.

I have his versions of Satanic,LIB,SF,Exile,GHS,IORR & B&B.

The word *remaster* is a kind of moot point as Mickboy obviously didn't have the original master tapes to work from, rather he tended to use the best vinyl sources he could find (generally Jap pressings) and work his sonic stuff on them.

He would also include some outtakes/live cuts relevant to the album with each release.

The last I heard he put out a few Licks tour *remasters*.

Whilst I remember he also *remastered* Led Zep 4 (which I have),but without any bonus cuts and a couple of other official releases which I don't have (Clapton/Harrison ?).

I have Mickboy's Aftermath, LIB, SF, Exile, GHS, IORR, B&B if anyone is keen for a trade.
I'm mainly after dvds at this point.

Thx.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.
