i have an old tape (cracklin, decomposing) titled "in studio with Jeff Beck" and there's quite a long instr. version of Slave named "black'n'blue jam". could anyone post a decent, audible version here?
that would be very nice!
ps. is that jeff beck stuff true? was he really in the studio with the stones?

It's not Jeff Beck. He has NEVER played with the Rolling Stones. Only with Bill Wyman. I think it's Pete Townsend.

Wrong, he played with the Stones in Rotterdam 1975 (06 feb. - 09 feb.).

Well, this is correct:
Jeff Beck has NEVER played on any official Stones releases.

I never admit a mistake, I give a new fact instead.

thank you guys, i really didnt know that (what would-be bootleggers in camden put on their tapes to rip off innocent tourists is appalling) and now that we´ve got a couple of crucial facts sorted out let me politely return to my original request, i.e. could you post this version of slave???

The work he did with the Stones from February 6th-9th 1975 probably was some of the early Black and Blue sessions, right?I just think that none of it appeared on Black and Blue or Tattoo You.

LesPaul,
Not sure if this is the one(s) you're after but from 'Start Us Up' the Tattoo You Sessions

Slave (6:52)
[s40.yousendit.com]

A composite mix, beginning with the original backing track (Rotterdam, April 1975), merging into a November 1980-mix with Mick's vocal overdub, then into another 1980-mix with additional saxophone-overdub (not used). Long version, but fades out!

Slave
[s40.yousendit.com]

The last four-and-a-half minutes from the original 1975 long version, starting off where the saxophone-overdub on the previous track begins

That's what it says on the sleeve...
