I’m glad you brought this up. Always wondered if this is a genuine promo and not a bootleg. Anybody knows?

It is a genuine promo. I don't know if there are possibly pirate copies existing. I sold my copy recently on eBay for 27.50 Euro. So his price is OK I think.

Any serious Stones collector knows about the counterfeit existence of this title.

The cover is counterfeit, the record is genuine.

This Hendrik has been around for twenty years and should know better, much better.

How do you distinguish genuine from counterfeit copies (record/cover)?

My copy has a black overprint onto the white area of the teeth inside the tongue, on the record label. In Hendrik's picture it's perfect. That's the only difference I can spot. Maybe I was played on this deal. Years ago some counterfeits were nearly impossible to detect. Personally I don't see any issue with Henrik's pictures including the sleeve. I'd say it's real, but I'm not a professional.

From what I remember, the primary way to spot the counterfeit copies is by looking at Keith's right eye. If you can easily see the difference between his pupil (black) and his iris (brown), then it is an original. On the counterfeit sleeves, when they copied the artwork, this definition was lost and his eye looks almost completely black.

Hey, Paw, "this Hendrik" happens to be one of the premier Stones' collectors in the world and a published author on the Stones. Not everyone knows about the characteristics of the counterfeit.

The label and the artwork of both are the same, the only difference is the matrix#:
Original:
Mono side: PR-316-1 SP
Stereo Side: ST-PR-316-1 SP


Counterfeit:
Mono side: PR-316-1 SP Ct 4P
Stereo Side: PR-316-1 SP Ct 4P

The copy just got sold but the matrix from the one I had was the original one.
Usually I delete the messages from items that are sold but will leave this one for reference.

I have just seen that the counterfeit actually has a listing on Discogs, - contributed by Dieter Hoffmann, - and he adds the info, that both Side A & Side B plays Stereo.
