Ron Wood and Mick Taylor
Coming together

This series presents special gigs where Ron Wood and Mick Taylor came together (between 2011 – 2013) to pay tribute to some artists and music that influenced their careers.
Beginning with the ‘Boogie 4 Stu’ shows and the Chess Records tribute and concluding with the handful of ‘Tribute to Jimmy Reed’ performances in London and New York City, the
current Rolling Stones guitarist teamed up with his direct predecessor to shine a light on some classic blues and early rock tunes.
Many other luminaries also play on some of these shows, not the least of which are Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman, as well as Al Kooper, Simon Kirke and Gary Clark Jr..
Nzb brought in his recordings and knowledge, and BlueTurns2Grey will create a
companion series by compiling the best available video footage and synchronizing it with the
audio files that I have reworked. Maidenlane provided inspiration.
So this is truly a joint venture.

Vol 05:
7TH NOVEMBER 2013
New York City
The Cutting room
‘Jimmy Reed Tribute’

Part I: the first show:
7th November 2013: RONNIE WOOD & MICK TAYLOR. New York City, The Cutting Room (1st show)
Line-up: MT (gtr, bvoc)/RW (gtr, harm, voc)/Stu Woods (upright bass)/Simon Kirke
(dr)/Wilbur Bascomb (bass)/Al Kooper (keyb; not all songs)

01 - Intro
02 - Good Lover
03 - Big Boss Man
04 - chat about Jimmy Reed
05 - Bright Lights, Big City
06 - Ain't That Lovin' You Baby
07 - Baby What You Want Me To Do
08 - Blue Carnegie
09 - I'm Mr. Luck
10 - I'm The Man Down There
(the last second is coming solely from source #1)
11 - band introduction
12 - High And Lonesome
13 - Going To New York
14 - outro

This show appears in many versions. The most interesting result was obtained by merging 2 different sources (see in the ‘docs’ folder):
Source #1: ‘Tribute To Jimmy Reed’ (Godfatherecords - G.R. 980) was used for the right channel.
Source #2: ‘Cutting Room Performance’ (no label) was used for the left channel.
As usual, the recordings were declicked, speed and amplification adjusted.

Part II: the second show:
7th November 2013: RONNIE WOOD & MICK TAYLOR. New York City, The Cutting Room (2nd show)
Line-up: MT (gtr, bvoc)/RW (gtr, harm, voc)/Stu Woods (upright bass)/Simon Kirke
(dr)/Wilbur Bascomb (bass)/Al Kooper (keyb)
15 - Shame, Shame, Shame -only an instrumental snippet

Bonus
Different merges from the source #1 with an another very partial source
16 - end of the chat about Jimmy Reed
17 - Bright Lights, Big City
18 - Ain't That Lovin' You Baby

As usual all the infos are taken from:

Despite the attention paid to the covers, an error had crept into the previous ones (a title was missing).
Here are the corrected covers for those who had already downloaded them.

The error is also corrected in the message at the beginning.
