POST: Bill WYMAN: Messing With The Blues in Montreux - Vol 2: Buddy Guy & Junior Wells (28 June 1974)
Bill WYMAN
“Messing with the blues in Montreux”
Montreux Jazz Festival
28th June 1974 & 23rd July 1977
Vol 02: 28th June 1974
With Buddy GUY & Junior WELLS
(restored from 3 sources)
This project is coming from audios and videos I got forwarded from nzb. The idea was to clarify the tracklists for the Montreux shows on which Bill Wyman was guesting with the famous bluesmen Muddy Waters, Junior Wells and Buddy Guy.
Thanks to the ones who shared their recordings, in particular to nzb, also for his advice and inspiration.

11 - Sweet Home Chicago (rumble reduction)
Note: The real running order of the show might have been a little different.
For this show we have 4 sources:
Source #1 is a rip from the DVD “Messin With The Blues”.
I deleted gaps in:
- Hoodoo Man Blues (some gaps deleted at 0’21, 1’05, 3’01 & 3’12)
- When You See The Tears From My Eyes (lots of gaps from 2’30 to 2’36)
- Ten Years Ago (a gap deleted at 4’09)
Source #2 is a rip from the video from a Swiss TV program on TSR aired in 1986.
In “Help Me” I deleted gaps at 0’20, 0’58, 1’44, 4’36, 5’39, 7’00 & 7’06.
Source #3 contains 2 extracts coming from ‘Blues By Year - 1974’ published by letsgo on Dime in April 2021 (sorry, I can't find the link anymore).
The songs are from mono radio recordings done on reels. The sound is poor but as noted by letsgo “…it’s for the document”.
Here the recording is declicked and I deleted, by hands, lots of noises.
letsgo names Bill Wyman's participation on these two tracks but because of the bad quality, it’s impossible to confirm (but likely).
Source #4 is the official cd which contains 4 more songs: “Ah’w Baby-Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”, “How Can One Woman Be So Mean”, “Checking Up On My Baby” and “My Younger Days” - so they couldn't be used here!
Note: Because there was some remaining space, I decided to add the ‘letsgo’ versions as bonus, but with a rumble reduction and more flaws deleted (by hands).
As usual all the infos are coming from Nico Zentgraf's Rolling Stones Complete Works Database: [
