POST: Woody's On The Beach - Ron WOOD with Bo DIDDLEY - 21 June 1988 (Vol 06 - corrective version)
Ron Wood Sidesteps:
The Woody’s On The Beach-concerts
This series is dedicated to the concerts that Ron Wood played at his Miami night club "Woody’s On The Beach" and in which he often accompanied other musicians.
Thanks to all the original recorders and especially to nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who provided me their recordings, gave critic and advise regarding my work ... so without whom this project wouldn’t have been possible!

Volume n°06
(corrective version)
21st June 1988
RON WOOD & BO DIDDLEY
………………………………………………………………………………………………
This volume is a corrective version to the Vol 06 from the series devoted to Ron Wood guesting with Bo Diddley and his band at Woody’s On The Beach.
A newly surfaced video includes 30 minutes of excerpts from the 2 shows that Bo Diddley and Ron Wood did in June 1988 at Woody's On The Beach. The sound quality is good but sadly it is very partial (only 30 minutes for both shows of June 21 and 22 combined).
By comparing them with the audio recordings we noticed that there had been mixtures of the 2 shows in the video but also in the audio recordings!
We spent a lot of time identifying the real origin of the different recordings and we present the result to you here.
#1-21 corresponds to volume 06 of this series (dedicated to June 21)
#1-22 corresponds to volume 07 of this series (dedicated to June 22)
#2 is the video source.
21st June 1988: RON WOOD & BO DIDDLEY. Miami (Fl), Woody’s On The Beach
Line-up: RW (gtr, voc,)/Bo Diddley (gtr, voc, dr)/Jim Satten (gtr)/Debbie Hastings (bass, bvoc)/Mike Fink (dr)/Hal Goldstein (keyb, bvoc, harm) plus special guest Bobby Keys from ‘Ooh La La’ onwards until ‘Black Limousine’.
The video includes the beginning of the show which was previously missing. ‘Ooh La La’, ‘Seven Days’ and ‘Lord Have Mercy’ are just fragments: I decided to present them in merged versions as a bonus. These parts also permitted to correct the speed (the version #1 had to be accelerated by +2%). I also refocused the two channels in the previous version.
Note that the first part of ‘Crackin’ Up’ was previously, by mistake, attributed to the 22nd June (where it was combined with the end of real 22nd June version of ‘Crackin’ Up’) and that another extract from the 21st June appears on the video (with a mutual part of 15 seconds).
01 - Crackin' Up (#2) then (#1-22) reconnected at 2’18, faded in
02 - I’m A Man (#1-22) faded out
03 - Mona (#1-21)
04 - Ooh La La (#1-21)
05 - Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On (#1-21)
06 - Seven Days (#1-21)
07 - Too Late (#1-21)
08 - Black Limousine (#1-21)
09 - improvisation and band introduction (#1-21)
10 - Diddley Daddy (#1-21)
11 - Money To Ronnie (#1-21)
12 - You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover (#1-21)
13 - Lord Have Mercy (#1-21)
Note that it's possible that we miss one or more tracks between ‘’I’m A Man’ and ‘Mona’.
Bonus: common parts from both sources merged (source #2 on the left channel & #1 on the right)
14 - Crackin’ Up (#2 & #1-22)
15 - Ooh La La (#2 & #1-21)
16 - Seven Days (#2 & #1-21)
17 - Lord Have Mercy (#2 & #1-21)
