Mick Taylor
with Mayall’s Bluesbreakers
in springtime 1982
This is a series dedicated to Mick Taylor’s shows with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in May and June 1982 when they toured California and the US East Coast.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: MT (gtr; some keyb)/John Mayall (voc, keyb, harm, gtr)/John McVie (bass)/Colin Allen (dr)

This recording is coming from nzb, it’s an audience recording so it’s different from the one used on the official release. The quality is average and the songs are edited.
The speed had to be decelerated by -4%.
In the first tracks the right channel was deteriorated so I decided to use only the left channel and duplicated it. But from ‘Howlin’ Moon’ onwards the right channel was saturated and hissy, so I decided to use the left channel duplicated until the first part of ‘Room To Move’ then both channels could be used.
Because all songs were edited, I added short fade ins/outs to separate the songs in a smoother way.
‘Room To Move’ was a real puzzle in different segments with repetitions and different recording qualities. I rebuilt the song but a segue is notably audible at 4’42.
* The running order of the show might be twisted, at least for the last two songs, but this is what the recording came like.
