Mick Taylor
with Mayall’s Bluesbreakers
in springtime 1982
This is a series dedicated to Mick Taylor’s shows with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers in May and June 1982 when they toured California and the US East Coast.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.
Line-up: MT (gtr; some keyb)/John Mayall (voc, keyb, harm, gtr)/John McVie (bass)/Colin Allen (dr)

10 - Band introduction #2 & outro
In 2016 I already improved a recording - a rip from the video. Nzb send me a better recording now (although the left channel was saturated). The ‘video-rip’-version was also interesting because it indicates the correct speed and it also contains the end of ‘Ridin’ On The Santa Fe’ and the encore ‘Room To Move’.
So here you will get a mix of both sources: the bulk coming from nzb’s tape and the end coming from the video rip.
Nzb’s version has been decelerated by -5%. ‘Checkin’ Up On My Baby’ has a break after 36 seconds, probably because of a necessary tape flip while recording. Because it was impossible to reconnected both parts of the song, I decided to do the separation between the 2 CD-rs at this point.
The audio quality of the video rip is very bad but permitted to complete ‘Ridin’ On The Santa Fe’ (reconnected at 3’27) and provided us ‘Room To Move’ and the end of the show. Unfortunately it is impossible to make out what John Mayall is saying in the 2nd band introduction as his banter is totally drowned in the cheering of the audience.
