POST: Mick TAYLOR: To complete the Maidenlane series - 1988.02.27 - NYC (Lone Star Cafe) 1st show
COMPLEMENTS
To The Maidenlane Recordings SERIES
As a supplement to the Maidenlane recordings series, I offer you some reworked concert versions of shows that were ‘already in circulation’.
These shows came to mind while comparing them to the Maidenlane recordings. We are grateful to the original tapers who recorded and shared them with us and I also would like to thank nzb for his help (his advice, judgements and expertise have been invaluable to me).
"We only enjoy what we share".

27. February 1988
NYC
Lone Star Café
(1st show)
27th February 1988: New York City, Lone Star Cafe (1st show)
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/Max Middleton (keyb)/Shane Fontayne (gtr)/Wilbur Bascomb (bass)/Denny McDermott (dr)
01 - intro & tuning
02 - Leather Jacket
03 - Red House
04 - Goin' South
05 - Giddy Up
06 - Blind Willie McTell
07 - Laundromat Blues
08 - Can't You Hear Me Knocking
Other than the Maidenlane version, all the others I checked came from the same source, but in varying quality. The show I chose to rework is called ‘New York 27/02/ 88 first show” because, unlike the others, it is lossless and running at a good speed.
I reworked it by declicking the recording and mostly by equalizing the channels (from +35 to the right channel to +20% to the left). I also reworked the transition between the tracks.
Note that the start of ‘Giddy Up’ has curious sounds, like echoes (which are also on the other versions) and there’s a gap at the end of ‘Blind Willie McTell’.
As usual I used a lot the infos taken from The Mick Taylor Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: [
