Soundboards from the '81 tour -- I've been reading that topic,and,even have a few of 'em me'self,but,I don't know if anyone else will agree,but,I think the best audience-boot is always better than a soundboard. Make sense?

Soundboards are crystal clear,mostly,yes,but,you lose a lot of the atmosphere. Audience boots can be dodgy,but,the best of them really capture a lot of the atmosphere.

Would there be great quality audience boots from the '81/'82 tours?

I always heard the Flowers of Scotland 1982 audience boot is a very good one but I never heard it personally...everytime I try to download it from dimeadozen there aint enough people sharing it...whenever they start sharing that one more often, I will definitely grab it for myself...but otherwise I hear that show is a great one...[www.rs-covers.com]

you are right it is indeed a great bootleg as i was at the show it is even more nostalgic to have shattered in europe is a good one too from italy on the 82 tour also

Good 1981 audience recordings:
Boulder, October 4
San Francisco October 17
Orlando October 25

and there are many many very good 82 audi boots

there's no doubt a good audience recording can be better than a soundboard of the same show.

Paris 98 soundboard is terrible - no crowd noice at all - no atmosphere....

I like "Bill Wyman We Miss You" from '82 but,it is one disc only.

Hello, I'm new here. Saw the Stones first in '81 Largo, MD and last '97 Oakland. Both great shows. Am keeping track of the 2005 tour since the beginning in setlist/reviews page.

I wonder if Largo or Landover, MD Capital Centre Dec 9, 1981 show exist on boots?
Did KBFH play this show?

Which Largo 1981 show did you attend? December 7, 8 or 9? Between KBFH and 'Superstars in Concert Series' I think several soundboard songs from the 9th were released. All three shows are available on audience quality recordings.

1st Syracuse is also ok.And the newly surfaced NYC 12.11.81.BOBM,i think you forget to mention 2nd San Francisco show,thats almost EX,so to speak.
Best 82 in quality is 1st Frankfurt 29.6.1982.

Shows kept selling out until we obtained the 9th. I see at 'Rocks Off' setlist page that some of it was partially broadcasted.

Is Dec 9, 1981 Largo, MD up anywhere for d/l? Would like to get that show. I think I got a fake recording of the show years ago on tape and wanted to confirm that.

The audience recording of the Taylor Kansas City '81 concert is pretty good.
