But with a note that it could come from another 1964 session.

You are right, I didn't read that before.

This new found version posted by Glimmerman could therefore have been recorded anytime between early 1963 and June 1964...........could it even be one of the Luxemburg recordings !!!!!!

I wonder what this 60th anniversary year will bring ???

I first thought about that, too, because it has very much a "live in the studio" feel like the BBC tracks, but checking the Luxembourg setlist revealed that MMITB was not included, at least it's not documented. So Regent 6/64 is the most likely theory until proven otherwise. Still think it's not a "serious" studio recording intended for possible release - sounds more like a studio warm-up to me. A great one!

Belated thanks! thumbs up

It's "funny" to see that the Stones fan community does the job Jagger is reluctant to do (= opening the vaults, enabling us to hear new music).

Have a look at Nico's Site: [www.nzentgraf.de]

64640318B 18th March: Luxembourgian radio (Radio Luxembourg)

He listed the songs. It is rumoured, that BW ownes the Masters or a copy of them. Maybe available in "Inner Circles", but I never heard, that these tracks are circulating.

Our fellow member VideoJames (Karnbach) -long time no see, btw.- once claimed here that he owns the master tapes of the Radio Luxembourg session while Wyman only has an acetate. Maybe he could shed light on this question?

I raised the "Reelin' & Rockin' " question ~ 5 years ago and James kindly replied:

Because it was (most probably) recorded at Regent in London sometime in 1964.
Btw I almost like more than "Down In The Bottom" II (the one tracked in Chicago late 64). Stu shines!

Thanks for sharing. I'm probably in the minority here but I can't say I find that period of great interest at least in terms of chasing down outtakes, energetic sure but pretty "generic"...

I used to feel the same way. Not anymore. Hopefully you'll grow in to it. My favorite song right now is Down Home Girl.

Give Rolling Stones NOW! a spin
