All the music and dialogue is taken from the soundtrack (ep plays at 33 1/3 so we can fit in all the main themes)

How can it be in the public domain when it was actually "made available to the public" as the soundtrack of a (within 50 years after production date) released movie?

It is legal to release material if it meets three criteria:

There is no mellotron. Brian did not play the bass or banjo.

Stereo? Suggests some messing about with the sound.

This has been officially released on Bluray and DVD in 2019. Was this used as sound source? I hope so as it's the best audio quality available. I used the bluray as source for my Brian Resource Youtube channel as the PAL DVD has the film and audio running slightly faster than it should.





Brian Jones soundtrack for Mord Und Totschlag/A Degree Of Murder film. Audio taken from official Bluray release.

Recorded at IBC Studios and Olympic Sound Studios in February 1967.

Line up:
Brian Jones - harmonica, recorder, dulcimer, sitar, autoharp, slide guitar & organ
Jimmy Page - guitar
Nicky Hopkins - piano, organ & harpsichord
Peter Gosling - organ & vocals
Kenney Jones - drum solo
Unverified/uncredited session musicians* - violin, cello, double bass, reeds & brass, 6 & 12 string acoustic guitar, jew's harp, banjo, bass guitar, drums.
Mike Leander - arranger/conductor
Glyn Johns - engineer

*It is possible that Keith Richards played during the sessions.

I would definitely buy a CD with the complete music, mastered from the best source - which is the blueray(?).

My Youtube upload is the audio from the Bluray.

Everyone else seems to use the inferior bootleg as a source which was originally a VHS recording of English language TV broadcast.

It seems impossible to get any real information about source here, Good spirit....

Isn't it obvious that if it had been taken from an officially released source the guy cannot confirm it?
