POST: Ron WOOD Sidesteps - Woody's On The Beach - Vol 10 - 10 November 1988 with Willie DIXON
Ron Wood Sidesteps:
The Woody’s On The Beach-concerts
This series is dedicated to the concerts that Ron Wood played at his Miami night club "Woody’s On The Beach" and in which he often accompanied other musicians.
Thanks to all the original recorders and especially to nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who provided me their recordings, gave critic and advise regarding my work ... so without whom this project wouldn’t have been possible!

Volume n°10
10th November 1988
RON WOOD & WILLIE DIXON
………………………………………………………………………………………………
10th November 1988: WILLIE DIXON. Miami, Florida, Woody’s On The Beach
Line-up: RW (gtr)/Wille Dixon (voc)/Bobby Keys (sax)/ & possibly Carey Bell (harm)/
Dennis Miller (gtr)/Darren Darnell (dr)/Michael Morrison (bass)/…(p)
The mono version:
01 - intro by Ron Wood, then Willie Dixon
02 - The Seventh Son
03 - You Shook Me-Rock Me Baby
04 - Spoonful
05 - I’m Ready
06 - Wang Dang Doodle
The mixed version:
07 - intro (stereo)
08 - The Seventh Son (mix stereo/mono)
09 - You Shook Me-Rock Me Baby (mono)
10 - Spoonful (mono)
11 - I’m Ready (stereo)
12 - Wang Dang Doodle (stereo rebuilt)
We had two versions coming from the same recording. The recorder as a big problem: the right channel was damaged (empty or with big noises) from 1’30 in the first track, then in the 2nd, 3rd tracks and from time to time in the two last tracks.
Nzb’s version was partially restored (see the comments in the “doc” file) but still had damaged segments that spoil the listening pleasure.
So I did my own version, deleting more flaws. I kept the left channel and duplicated it so the restoring parts are in mono.
Because of the short duration of the recording, I decided to do two versions here.
The first one only in mono (only the left channel duplicated) without those noise problems.
The second is a mix from the good stereo parts, patched with mono parts, where necessary. Note that “Wang Dang Doodle” was in two parts so I rebuilt it, but a little gap remained at 5’16.
