POST: Mick TAYLOR 1987 Japanese shows - Vol 09a - 10th April 1987 - Tokyo - 1st show - version 1: lossless only

for this show you have the possibility to download 2 versions:
- this one (lossless) reserved for those who are allergic to compressed files!
- the other version will contain a lossy source (with a better sound) and the other lossless (the same as on this version)!

MICK TAYLOR and
The Hot Water Band
The 1987 Japan shows

A big thank to my usual partners in crime nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who sent me their versions for these shows and gave critics and advise regarding my work.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Volume 09a
Lossless version
10th April 1987
Tokyo, Japan, Live Inn (1st show)

10th April: Tokyo, Japan, Live Inn (1st show)
Line-up: MT (gtr)/Jon Young (keyb, voc)/Wayne Hammond (bass)/Mike Cullen (dr)

As usual all the infos are taken from The Mick Taylor’s Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: [www.nzentgraf.de]

For this show we had the CD n°2 from IMP-N-014 'Nasty Blues'-bootleg with very good sound but incomplete: CYHMK is partial (only 3 minutes from the 23 minutes!), “Third Stone…” is missing and the frequency spectrum seems very limited (it's surely lossy).
Fortunately nzb sent me an alternate source, with a good sound and a better frequency spectrum, but it also had two defaults: a 2 minute gap in the middle of “Red House” (from 5’ to 7’ maybe a tapeflip?) and it runs too slow.
Because lossy files cannot be used on certain sites I dropped the idea to create a mix from the two sources for “Red House” and decided to do 2 versions for this show:
- Vol 09a with only nzb’s source reworked: it’s the version you have here
I upgraded nzb’s source by adding a little more bass and treble, re-equilibrated the channels and I used the IMP source to correct the speed (+1,68%).
- Vol 09b with nzb’s source upgraded and the IMP version reworked (transitions
between the songs): …..so a two sources version but with lossy & lossless files that can only be downloaded on IORR [www.iorr.org]
Here's the inlay for this version:
CD1:
01 – Intro and tuning
02 – Tusks
03 – I Don’t Know
04 – Giddy Up
05 – Rock Me Baby
06 – Red House (part1)

CD2:
01 – Red House (part 2)
02 – Put It Where You Want It
03 – Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
04 – Third Stone From The Sun

As Red House was already in two parts I used this gap to separate the two cd’r-s.
For the covers I used and reworked pics from the great Japanese fanzine “Stone People” (issue #47).
