1975-07-13 LA 1975 Tour Of The Americas 3LP set - anyone got this?
Posted by: happystoned ()

Anyone have it by any chance?

The vinyl were sourced from the first tape source which was confiscated, along with the stampers, in a raid in 1979 from the woman behind Idol Mind. The compact disc releases are sourced from Mike Millard’s excellent recording.

Are you able to digitalize your vinyl?

= VGP-284: [www.iorr.org]
or Dandelion DL 036/37/38/39, disc 3+4: [www.iorr.org]

I do see now that disc 1 and 2 of Dandelion set contains Mike Millard recording while disc 3 and 4 are contain the source used on 3LP set titled "1975 Tour of the Americas". One thing I have noticed is fact that Dandelion isn't as complete as original vinyl because some songs are taken from July 10th alternate tape source while original 3LP set has them all in the setlist.

Any further details on this?

Then it would more than great to hear original vinyl rip as Dandelion is kinda tweaked to my ears. Same with VGP.

Mój przyjaciel, you're a little over 10 years too late; I got rid of my vinyl years ago. Otherwise I would be in line at the Post Office, waiting to send these to you. The LP wh. begins w\Honky Tonk Women is the loudest and clearest of the 3.

LP #1, the one w\Starƒucker from 7\10 I believe, is the best. Has the best version of IYCRM\GOM from the 75 tour.

Got the 3-lp box for my fifteenth birthday, so '80, showed my parents the Pied Piper catalogue and they sent away for it for me, bless 'em. I played it so many times. Isn't it supposed to be "Vicki Vinyl" (Idol Mind)'s voice you can hear on the non-Millard source or do I have that wrong?

I have the original multicolored version. Midnight rambler is muffled on most of the track.
But it is indeed the greatest audience live album...!!!
I love the intro of Doo Doo Doo...

Hi Gang

Today we have the Tarantura version of this famous L.A. Friday show The Rolling Stones gave on a... sunday
It's always the same tape, thanx to Mike the Mike! I like this version, along with the VHS transfer.

But to be honest, the version I really like best is the 3 LPs set I bought back in those great vinyl years
(beautiful marble colour LPS!), with those great titles ("Who went to church this sunday?",
"Charlie Watts and his FABULOUS Rolling Stones" and "1975 Nervous Breakdown")

which come from another source you can find on Dandelion's "The complete LA tapes"
and on some copies made by VGP...

It took place at the L.A. forum on the 13th of July.

Very nice hidepark.I had the blue, white and red box set but it disappeared when my parents moved house in the early naughties. All I have left of it is the slip paper cover.
My vinyl copies of London Calling and Sandinista plus a 12" Sister Sledge Lost In Music also vanished at the same time.

Someone out there has my stuff. angry smiley

Listening to this now and I have to admit that the sound quality is far, far superior to the LA Friday Tapes by Dandelion and any other silver pressed and mastered release of this source so far.

I am now curious if gaps in between many songs on the original vinyl rip are original or they have been especially created to fit the whole tape on 3 LPs. The Dandelion title have no gaps...

"He's worse tonight than he was on the tape", spoken after Mickette introduces Ron Wood. She's quoted on the cover as "Knocking on Wood."
