Sckott,

I don't think you would say the bootleg puttdown about four "new" compilations by "Porky Productions" !

They are titled..."Laid In The Shade Vol.2"..
2CDs of outtakes different versions, from
"Out of Time" to "Out of Control";

"Closet Classics"...1CD of early, unreleased songs from "Reelin' & Rockin'" to "Honest Man";

"Stereofonic Stones"...2CDs of songs
from Down The Road Apiece" to "Jiving Sister Fanny";

"Blessed Poison"...a 2CD set of the best of the Bridges From Babylon tour live selections...all excellent quality !

It's infamous in the alt.net circuit for it's high quality, great real stereo separation...and great track selections !

Try to latch on to a copy, if you haven't already !

I'll upload a scan of the covers. First I want to fix the misspelling on the front cover! As soon as I have some time!

your welcome!

I like this faux (fake) concert. There are probably the best tracks from the tour. I'm not sure why 19th Nervous Breakdown is tacked on as a bonus track. I can only think it was a sound quality issue. Now there has been a better sound quality of "19th Nervous Breakdown" from Chicago 1997 that could get inserted in to the proper place in this album.

I like the St Louis "Like a Rolling Stone" much better than the release on Stripped.

I like "The Last Time" from Chicago better than on the "No Security" album here on "Blessed poison."

It's nice to have "Sister Morphine" The 10 Spot show since it's different than "No Security."

"Let It Bleed" here from Chicago '97 has Mick on guitar (3 guitars) whereas other performances on the tour only used two guitars (if I remember correctly).

By the time the Stones got to Paris in 1998 they changed the way they played "Paint It Black" and it was much better than previous live versions from 1989-1990. Someone told me they change the key the song was played in. I like it better here than previous performances.

"J J Flash" from Chicago was a nice strong version.

I have to agree with most or maybe all of the choices that were available were probably the best. Does anybody think there were an better offerings from this tour than what "Blessed Poison" has to offer? Help appreciated.

Thanks,
ExileStones

Yes I think this collection could be improved in many ways.
I have not heard it but, Bremen and Rio are sound-wise not very good.

An upgraded version of Chicago is on Dime with the later part of the concert in better quality,

the Paris soundboard is very bold and dry.

Those songs from St Louis shouldn't be included since they already are on the official dvd.

And there is no songs from Chorzow 1998 on this release, that concert has quite good audio, especially the new vhs-master that circulated here on Iorr a few years ago.

New Blessed Poison Cover Link

I always like this image of the boys but it was cropped too tight and there was stuff in the way and other distractions. An hour of photoshop later and voila.

I this album is our best document from 1997-1998. Maybe I'll work on getting "19th Nervous Breakdown in the proper position on the album next?

Thanks for compilation.
However, I cannot detect if they really played in Port Charles in 1997-98. Where is it?

interesting question.....
port charles is a small to midsized city located in western new york,
part of the eerie county, on the shores of lake ontario between the buffalo-niagara falls and rochester areas.
it's a well known city by watchers of the earlier abc daytime soap opera 'general hospital'.

Pretty sure they mean Port Chester where they played for MTV at the 10 Spot.

Thanks!!!

I love how the bootleggers have mixed in audience noise from some other concert with SFTD from Paris to make the recording sound less dead eye rolling smiley

There's obvious mistakes for this B2B compilation. I'm glad they got the music right!

Port Charles! Too funny! From a TV show.

Somebody re-did the back cover in high-res. It looks great! Could I ask that person to correct Port Charles to Port Chester? And use the B2B tongue? I'd appreciate it. I love this album. It's a keeper.

One good thing about Porky's "Blessed Poison" is it's a who concert and the best material. The official album "No Security" isn't a whole concert, so it's great to have this one!

Any particular songs from Chorzow 1998 you think are particularly good?
