People, I need to convert some clips from youtube into DVD format so that I can edit them with my beloved DVD shrink program.
Can anyone recommend a good free converter that won't give me malware and that's got a really simple interface
so that a techno-primitive like myself can figure out how to use it? Please and thank you kindly!

I have a VLC player but what I need is to convert youtube clips from mp4/flv/etc to DVD format.
I need to edit the clips, and the program I want to use for that only works in DVD format.

You could try "Freemake Video Converter". I've used it a lot to convert mp4 and avi to DVD and it's free. (basic menu, but it does the job)

I also use ConvertXtoDVD 4, but that one isn't freeware....

Dvd styler has less format's, i usr it in linux but i would like to see another more format's program but i can't find anything. I tried LIves, Pitivi, openshot, Avidemux, LWKS

(it's not free at all, this is the price you pay)
but there is a separate box for installing any extra option/product; nothing will be installed without your approval. so:

- when installing, watch what you enable/disable, (not) agree with etc
- after installing, use
adware clean
if you missed something
