The Best of Live In Concert

I was browsing Stones CD's on Amazon and came across something called, "All The Hits - The Best of Live In Concert." There was no track listing or description. Anyone know anything about this? Thank you kindly.

Is it the one with that 1975-ish Mick concert picture going for about $100? The one below?

I'd check the Stones Vault in the Buy/Sell/Trade section.

Here's the track listings...

Going for $100?! Heck, I have this disk buried away somewhere. I can't imagine it's actually selling for $100 but maybe there are some completists who just need it.

It was nice little pickup when I got it back in about 1992 or so. But everything is available on other easier to find boots.

Some of this is Brussels that we've known for years, as I recall (BS, MR, HTW, maybe others). IORR is LA 7-13 as I recall. Maybe a Philly '72 and Dallas '72 song on there as well. All are from the commonly available shows and a nice little sampling of the better recordings.

Sounds like a damn interesting record, the time is right. Interestingly, the songs are about the same as a live concert in 2014.....

Can anybody comment on the sound/performance quality of this one?

peace

Just dug out my CD of this and gave it a spin for the first time in years. Here's what I think are the shows that each song is taken from (going from memory here, but think I'm right):

Gimme Shelter: London, Empire Pool, Sept. 9, 1973
Brown Sugar: Brussels '73 (as available on bootleg Brussels Affair, et al. First show. Note that all of the Brussels songs on this CD are from the first show, so it's different than the "official" Brussels release which was all from the second show with exception of BS, MR, and SFM, as I recall.)
Happy: ditto above
Angie: ditto above
YCAGWYW: ditto above
Rip this Joint: Philly '72 as on Philadelphia Special, et al.
It's Only Rock and Roll: LA 7-13-75 as on LA Friday, et al.
Honky Tonk Women: Brussels '73 (as on bootleg Brussels Affair, et al. first show)
Midnight Rambler: ditto above
Beast of Burden: Oshawa Benefit Concert, 1979
Satisfaction: Philly '72
Street Fighting Man: Brussels '73 (as on Brussels Affair, et al. first show)

The sound is decent. I detect vinyl pops on a few songs, so sourcing is probably from what was available in late '80's, perhaps? I'd say I have all of these songs in better audio quality on other CDs or other subsequent downloads/acquisitions. But at the time this CD was released (early 90's), this was a nice little compilation to have.

Ah, nice link. Yeah, close, and I guess I need to dust off Philly and Fort Worth as I'm getting those confused evidently, but some of those identified here as Ft. Worth sure sound like what I've known as Philly. Just took a quick listen again at Happy and yep, it's not Brussels. Whoops. And JJF sounds like Philly to me but maybe I got my wires crossed on that. And I need to go back and really source that SFM version, as I just know I've had various incarnations of Brussels Affair that contain the version on this CD, but maybe it's actually Empire Pool.

When did Oshawa move to the USA? Or was it only for 1979?

It was for that benefit show Keith had to do from a court order... Mick & Ronnie joined him. Did Charlie show up?

(BTW-It has always been in Canada, those cheap bootleggers just want to make kids flunk their world geography! smiling smiley )

Ah, now I remember...I had forgotten that many of the original boots titled Brussels Affair actually contained Happy and SFM from Empire Pool. Had me confused. Not hard to do. [I'm still a bit flummoxed on the Philly vs. Fort Worth but I'm not feeling too inclined to trust my memory now!]

Mix and overall sound on this particular CD is decent, but not as good as some of the versions easily picked up elsewhere. For example, many of the LA Friday bootlegs (released under several different titles, as well as newer "official" LA Friday release) sound better on IORR than on this CD, IMO. Same can be said for the Brussels material. [Actually, to my ears, some of the previous Brussels bootlegs (Nasty Music, etc.) actually sound a bit better than the "official" release. But that's starting to split hairs, maybe.]

I wish I was adept at file sharing as I'd rip this and post it just so you could hear how it sounds. But honestly, there's nothing new here, and better versions of all of these songs (from these dates/locations) can be found right here on this board in the Stones Vault. Still, this boot tripped my trigger way back when in those pre-internet days when it was a little more of a deal to acquire these great recordings.
