I put in a Stones dvd to play in my dvd player, after I watched it I noticed the dvd was hot when taking out of machine, would the dvd be damaged in time?

I have that happen all the time with CDs but I have never heard about it occurring with DVDs.
With CDs, if the CD gets too hot it starts to skip. At least that has been my experience.
