While it would be nice to have a FLAC of this most people really can't tell the difference quality wise between and MP3 ripped at 320kbs and the original source.

True, but once you start editing the mp3 source (reversing the channnels, correcting the speed etc.) you might encounter some of the sonic limitations of the lossy format.

Of course FLAC would be nice but the source (Wolfgangs Vaults) offers mp3 only, and downloading mp3 and changing to FLAC afterwards does not make any sense at all!

And, even worse, this would pollute the waters - claiming that it's lossless by using FLAC when the source is lossy mp3 in fact.

Lossy once - lossy forever. It can't be undone!
